บันทึกนักศึกษาปริญญาเอกภาษาอังกฤษกับการอ่านภาษาอังกฤษ(reading)

    วันนี้สอนนิสิตเรื่องการฟัง ได้ลองให้นิสิตฟังการพูดสนทนาโทรศัพท์ ปรากฏว่านิสิตฟังไม่ค่อยออก (แหมมีการบอกให้ผู้เขียนลดความเร็วของการพูดด้วย) เลยบอกว่า ชาวต่างประเทศพูดด้วยความเร็วแบบนี้  เอาการฟังมาตรวจ ปรากฏว่าใช้เวลามากและส่วนใหญ่นิสิตได้คะแนนไม่ดี เพราะใน CD มีคำหลายคำที่ชาวต่างประเทศ พูดรวบคำ

                   ดูแต่ละคนนะครับ เครียดๆๆ (แกล้งนิสิตวันละนิดจิตแจ่มใส)

       ต่อไปคงต้องฝึกการฟังให้นิสิตมากกว่าเดิม เอาเรื่องนี้มาฝาก พ่อใจเด็ดแบบนี้บ้านเรามีบ้างไหม(คาดว่าน่าจะมี)  ลองอ่านดูนะครับ…

Dad turns son in

 

LONDON: A teenager was jailed yesterday for possessing a gun after his father handed him in to police when he found the weapon and bullets in his home.

Paul Metcalfe, 19, of Nelson, in Lancashire, was sentenced to three years. After sentencing, his father said he had no regrets, although he did think the jail term was too long.

‘‘I think I did the right thing,’’ he said outside court. The son had earlier told the court that he had ‘‘got in with the wrong crowd’’.

turn someone in – to bring someone to the police for possible punishment ส่งให้ตำรวจ
was sentenced – was given a punishment by a court of law

                     ถูกศาลตัดสิน
regrets – feelings of being sorry that something has happened เสียใจ
jail term – a time required to be spent in jail ช่วงเวลาที่ถูกขัง
got in with the wrong crowd – became friends with people who were not good คบกับคนไม่ดี

   อ่านเรื่องคุณพ่อท่านนี้แล้วเป็นอย่างไรบ้างครับ เมื่อลูกทำผิดพ่อก็จับส่งตำรวจเลย(ใจเด็ดมาก) ผู้เขียนเพิ่งทราบว่าในอังกฤษมีอาวุธปืนไว้ในครอบครอง จำคุก 3 ปี บ้านเราไม่ทราบกี่ปี ใครพอจะทราบไหมครับ ขอบคุณครับที่เข้ามาอ่าน…
