ใครเป็นคนคิดคำว่า Blog เป็นคนแรกของโลก ?

คำว่า "Weblog" ถูกใช้เป็นครั้งแรกโดย Jorn Barger ในเดือนธันวาคม ปี 1997. ต่อมามีฝรั่งที่ชอบเรียกสั้นๆ ชื่อนาย Peter Merholz จับมาเรียกย่อเหลือแต่"blog" แทนในเดือนเมษายนปีคศ. 1999 และจนมาถึงวันที่ 13 มีนาคม คศ.2003 ทาง Oxford English Dictionary จึงได้บรรจุคำว่า blog ในพจนานุกรม แสดงว่าได้รับการยอมรับอย่างเป็นทางการ

Blog จะเขียนเรื่องอะไรก็ได้ใช่หรือไม่ ?

ถูกต้อง... blog ให้อิสระในการเขียนเรื่องอะไรก็ได้ตามใจเรา และโดยที่มันสะท้อนบุคลิกของคนเขียน ถ้าคนไหนเป็นคนตลกๆ ก็จะเขียนออกมาได้สนุกสนาน น่าอ่าน, ใครชอบเล่าเรื่องส่วนตัวก็ทำได้, ใครชอบเลี้ยงสุนัขจะเล่าเรื่องน้องหมาของตัวเองทุกวันเลยก็ยังได้ หรือคนไหนวิชาการหน่อยจะเขียนออกแนวซีเรียสก็ไม่มีใครว่ากัน

เช่นในปี 2001 มีการฮิตเขียน blog เรื่องสงครามในอิรักกันมาก เกิด War blogger ขึ้นหลายคน เขียน blog จากในสนามรบมีจรวดบินผ่านหัวเลยก็มีครับ จะเห็นได้ว่า blog มีจุดเด่นที่ แต่ละคนเป็นตัวของตัวเองได้เต็มที่ มีอิสระกันได้มาก สนุกสนาน ไม่เป็นทางการก็ยังได้ แต่ต้องไม่ไปสร้างความเดือดร้อนให้ใครนะครับ

Blog ต่างจากไดอะรี่อย่างไร ?

จากคำนิยามของ Wikipedia.org ได้เขียนไว้ว่า Diary ก็คือ Blog แบบส่วนตัวอย่างหนึ่ง ที่เจ้าของเลือกเขียนเรื่องส่วนตัวเป็นหลักว่าวันนี้ไปทำอะไร รู้สึกยังไงบ้าง ดูจากที่เขาเขียนนะครับ

ก็จะเห็นได้ว่า ไดอะรี่นั้น คือ blog ชนิดหนึ่งนั่นเอง แต่ blog มีความหมายกว้างกว่าไดอะรี่ เพราะใช้เขียนเรื่องราวได้หลากหลายกว่าน่ะครับ

รูปแบบหน้าตา ของ blog มีรูปแบบตายตัวหรือไม่ ?

รูปแบบของ blog นั้นหลากหลาย ไม่ตายตัว ไม่จำเป็นว่าจะต้องหน้าตาเหมือนๆกัน แต่โดยมากจะมีรูปแบบคล้ายกันตามนิยามของ Wikipedia ดังนี้

รูปแบบของ blog นั้นมีหลากหลาย ตั้งแต่เป็นหัวข้อลิงค์ง่ายๆไปจนถึงการรวมเรื่องที่มีการให้คนอื่นที่มาดู blog เขียนคอมเม้นท์ไว้ได้ หรือโหวตให้คะแนนได้ blog มักจะลงวันที่และเวลาที่เขียนไว้ด้วย และรายการที่โพสล่าสุดมักจะอยู่ข้างบน เนื่องจากลิงค์เป็นเรื่องสำคัญมากของ blog โดยมาก blog ต่างๆจึงต้องทำลิงค์ให้ไปอ่านเรื่องเก่าๆได้ง่ายและชื่อเว็บที่เรียกเข้า blog แต่ละคนก็จะเขียนแบบง่ายๆด้วยครับ

สรุปว่า รูปแบบของ blog ไม่ตายตัวนะครับ ไม่ใช่ว่าต้องหน้าตาแบบ blogger.com เป๊ะๆถึงจะเรียกว่า blog ไม่ใช่แบบนั้นนะครับ

ข้อมูลที่ใส่ใน blog ใส่ได้แต่ตัวอักษรหรือไม่ ?

อย่างที่บอกครับว่า blog มีอิสระมาก หลายๆ blog จึงใส่ได้มากกว่าตัวหนังสือเช่น รูปภาพ จากกล้องดิจิตอลและกล้องมือถือ มีคนเขียน blog หลายคนนิยมถ่ายรูปมาลงใน blog ของตัวเอง และนอกจากนี้ ถ้าใครจะใส่ไฟล์พวก flash ไม่ว่าจะเป็นภาพเคลื่อนไหว หรือ เสียงเพลง หรือทั้งคู่! ก็ได้สบายมาก ลองไปค้นคำว่า music blog ใน www.google.com สิครับ มีตรึมเลยไม่ผิดกติกาแต่อย่างใด ไร้ข้อจำกัดครับ !

เนื้อหาใน blog จำเป็นต้องเน้นข้อเท็จจริงหรือไม่ ?

ตรงกันข้ามเลยครับ หัวใจของ blog คือการเขียนแบบที่ฝรั่งเขาเรียกว่า "casual" คือ เขียนสบายๆเหมือนเพื่อเล่าให้ฟัง (ตรงข้ามกับคำว่า "formal" โดยสิ้นเชิง) เนื้อหาใน blog ส่วนมากจะเป็น "ข้อคิดเห็น" และ "ความรู้สึก" ของเจ้าของ blog มากกว่าที่จะเป็นข้อเท็จจริงที่หนักอึ้งและซีเรียส

As a format and content approach for a Web site, the weblog seems popular because the viewer knows that something changes every day, there is a personal point-of-view, and, on some sites, there is an opportunity to collaborate or respond with the Web site and its participants.

2) Weblog is the name of a software product from South Korea that analyzes a Web site's access access log and reports the number of visitors, views, hits, most frequently visited pages, and so forth.
