การเข้าไปใช้ Social networking sites เช่น Facebook, Twitter ก็ทำให้เราได้เรียนรู้คำศัพท์ในภาษาอังกฤษใหม่ พอใช้กันมากๆเข้าในโลกออนไลน์ก็เป็นกลายที่ยอมรับ อย่างเช่นคำนี้ ที่ได้ถูกบรรจุไว้ในพจนานุกรมแล้ว

The Oxford American Dictionary has named "unfriend", a verb meaning "to remove someone as a friend on social networking sites such as Facebook" as its 2009 word of the year.


 

Unfriend แปลว่า ไม่เป็นเพื่อนกันต่อไป ยกเลิกการเป็นเำพื่อน (ทางออนไลน์) และไม่สื่อสารกันอีกในกาีรใช้ Facebook, Hi5, BeBo, etc. ซึ่งก็น่าจะหมายความว่าในโลกความเป็นจริงก็จะไม่ติดต่อกันในทางอื่นๆด้วย เำำพราะบางทีเพื่อนออนไลน์เราอาจไม่เคยเห็นตัวเป็นๆ กันมาก่อน

Unfriend is a prefixed word comes from putting ‘un’ (means not) in front of ‘friend’. This word is different from the norm. Most prefixed words are adjectives such as 'unacceptable' or 'unpleasant' while there are other familiar 'un-' verbs such as 'uncap' or 'unpack'.
