AFS Kamphaengphet Chapter

Welcome to Kamphaengphetpittayakom School,

I'd like to introduce the foreigners who teach and study at my school . There are 13 foreigners but just only 11 would be presented . They are :

MS. Hannah Moeller , an AFS exchange student from Germany .

MS. Helene Christine ALT from Germany

My name is Helene Alt. and I am 18 years old. I come from Germany and live in Bayreuth which belongs to the southern state Bavaria. My hometown is about 240 kms. away from the famous city Munich.

I arrived in bangkok on the 14th of August together with 15 other Germans who went abroad with the AFS Program. Since the 18th of August , I am an English assistant teacher at Kamphaengphetpittayakom School and will stay in Thailand until the end of April 2009. I wanted to come to Thailand because I have heard from so many people that it is a beautiful country and the people are very friendly. I really think this is true and I am glad to be able to teach at this school ! I am also considering becoming a teacher when I get back to Germany, so I am glad that I can make experiences with as well Thai teachers as students.

My host family is the family Ratanaphichai and we live in Nakornchum.

Dong Ying

My name is Dong Ying. I am a friendly and sincere girl who is from Yunnan , China . I like travel, photography, movies, reading and writing. Through those I can connect with the world closely. I am lucky I have had the chance to come to Thailand and will spend nearly a year in Kamphaengphet. It is a graceful leisurely and easygoing city, it has friendly people, delicious food and beautiful sights. Although I am far away from my hometown, I have strong feelings of happiness everyday. Oh right, I learned to ride a bicycle here, which made me so excited. I can not help myself telling everyone, I love Kamphaengphet! I believe the year I live here would be one of my happiest time in my life. Meanwhile, Chinese people are friendly too. In my hometown Yunnan , we have spring city Kunming , beautiful ancient city Lijiang, Yulong Snow Mountain , Shangri-La, delicious food, famous minority dancing Yunnan Yinxiang and so on. You are welcome to come to China . I am sure you will have a fantastic experience there, just like I am having now in Kamphaengphet , Thailand .

我叫董莹，来自中国云南。我是一个友好真诚的女孩，喜欢旅行、摄影、电影、阅读和写作。我觉得通过它们，我可以与世界很好地连接在一起。

我很幸运有机会来到泰国，并将在甘烹碧度过近一年的时光。这是一个优雅悠闲的城市，这里的人民热情友好，食物可口，风光旖旎。虽然离家千里，但我每天都有强烈的幸福感。哦，对了！让我雀跃不已的是，我还在这里学会了骑自行车。我忍不住要告诉每一个人，我爱甘烹碧！我相信在这里的一年将会是我人生中最幸福的时光之一。

同时，中国人也同样友好。在我的家乡云南，有“春城”昆明、美丽的丽江古城、玉龙雪山、香格里拉、美味食物、著名的少数民族舞蹈《云南印象》等等。欢迎你来中国，我保证在中国你会有一段妙不可言的经历，正如我现在在泰国，在甘烹碧所感受到的。

Jeff Clewer

I would like to introduce myself to you. My name is Mr. Jeff Clewer.
I come from Melbourne, Australia and I am very proud to be associated with the school’s English program. Being born in Australia, I am positive that I can help all students with their pronunciation of the English vocabulary. So please do not be shy to talk to me or ask any questions that you might have. Remember I am here to help YOU!

I have done many things over the years including being apprenticed when I left school to become a motor mechanic this took a period of 4 years of school and hands on the job training.

Once I left the work shop where I was apprenticed I worked in various workshops for a number of years to gain the much need experience on engines and diesel motors as well as gearboxes and many different types of mechanical machinery such as cranes dozers and railway equipment. After this I found employment in a factory that made oil, air; and fuel filters. I learnt all about 100 ton presses and the dies that the presses used to make the parts and the other machinery that spun parts together.

At this time I felt it was necessary to go back to school (university) and learn about hydraulics and pneumatics all heavy earth moving equipment uses both these two systems on board.

After this was accomplished I had the opportunity to purchase a heavy prime mover and start my own business subcontracting to a very large company. I loved this type of work it was very rewarding and I worked with my business for some 17 years.

I have been living in Kamphangphet for the last 12 months on and off with some trips back to Australia. I love Thailand very much and find the people so friendly and pleasant. Always wanting to show me what they know even if it is only one word

Hello everyone, I’m Jingya Zhong, my nick name is Real, my Thai name is Buachompuu Naknam. I’m a cheerful 20-year-old Chinese girl, coming from the biggest city of western China----Chengdu----Hometown of the panda. I’m thankful for being sent to KamphaengPhet by fate. I’ve wonderful memories
about you guys. For that matter, I thought I’m turn out to be lucky enough.

I’ve two host families. One is the kind Sommai Family; another is the friendly Naknam Family. Both of them show selfless love to me, I’m thankful. Thanks for all the guys who ever took care of me, you have been coloring my life and you made sure that coming to Thailand was the best choice I’ve ever made in my life.But anyway, I will remember your face clearly and come back soon. :)

大家好! 我是钟静雅,我的小名是Real, 我有一个泰国名字叫Buachompuu Naknam.我是一个很有活力的20岁的中国女孩，我来自中国西部最大的城市，同时也是熊猫的故乡------成都。

我很感激命运将我带到甘烹碧，使得我拥有了许多关于你们的精彩回忆。就这一点而言，我就能证明我绝对是个十足的幸运儿。

我有两个接待家庭----善良的sommai一家，以及友好的naknam一家。他们都向我展示了泰国人无私的爱。我很感激他们。感谢所有曾经照顾我关怀我的人，是你们使我的生命变得斑斓起来，也是你们，让我确定了来泰国绝对是我有生以来做过最棒的决定。

MISS MAIKO INOUE from Japan

Sawadee ka. I am Maiko Inoue from Japan. Let me introduce myself and Japan. My hometown is in Fukui-pref. It is almost in the middle part of Japan, located in 2 hours away from Osaka by train. Some may have heard the city named Obama in Fukui, is the same name as new U.S. President Mr.Obama. Fukui is next to the sea but we also have many mountains. We have snow in winter, so now I miss snow a little bit.

Before coming to Thailand, I was working at the optical frame company. (Fukui is famous for producing optical frames in Japan) I brought some pairs of glasses here. You will see different kinds of frames on my face sometimes J

I came to Thailand because I wanted to live in foreign Asian country and know its culture and language. Learning Thai language is not easy, especially writing and pronunciation. However, I enjoy learning Thai little by little. And I like Thai food so much. Just after arriving in Thailand, I could not eat any spicy food, but now I cannot eat without any spices. Thai people are really warm-hearted and I feel I am very happy to be here in Kamphaeng phet, Thailand.

Ricky T. Morales.

Hello, my name is Ricky T. Morales. I come from the Philippines. My home town is in the middle of the Philippines specifically in Leyte, Province. I have one
older and no sister. We are only 4 people in my family.

I graduated from Leyte Normal University, Philippines, with the degree of Bachelor of Secondary Education. It means that I can teach in Mattayom level. I also study again after my graduation as supplemental education for primary at Holy Infant College for one year. I am capable to teach Mattayom and Pratom levels.

Now, I’m currently working in this school for three years. I am very happy working here because the teachers are friendly and helpful. The students are nice to deal with in the classroom. The environment is fresh. I can speak Thai a little. I hope I can stay here for more years to help the students in learning English and to gain more experiences teaching in this institution.

Gemma A. Cordeta- Morales.

Hi, my name is Gemma A. Cordeta- Morales. I’m married to Mr. Ricky Morales last April 30, 2004. I have one son. He was born in Phichit province last June 3 2007. I am from the Philippines. My home town is located in the middle of the country particularly in the Visayas Region VIII, Tacloban City. My parents are so hard working because we are many. I have 2 brothers and 4 sister, we are 9 in the family.

I got my Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSED) at Leyte Normal University last March 31,2008. Leyte Normal university is an institution centered for teachers’ education. I also studied Supplemental Education for pre-school to primary students at Holy Infant College for one year last 2001.

I come to Thailand last March 2003 as a tourist. Luckily, I have 2 sisters in Laos and friends who are working here ( Thailand) and they convinced me to try to look for a teaching job. So, I posted my resume in the site for teachers in Thailand, and after a few days I was hired at Anuban Vachira School. I worked there for four years and a half.Teaching students from nursery up to pratom v. Then, in October 2007 I was invited to teach in this school where my husband is, so I’m here happily teaching and gaining more experiences from various levels of students. Dirk Wittwmans Hi ! this writing to tell you a little bit more about myself. I come from Belgium, this country is located in Europe between France and Holland. The languages that are spoken are Flemish, French and English, but since I have traveled a lot I am able to speak Spanish, German, Dutch and Thai as well. I’ve lived on this planet for 34 summers and about one third of the time I spend it in other places than my hometown .Back in the old days I graduated from the faculty of arts in Bruxelles where I obtained a degree in interior design and advertising . At that time the computer industry was uprising so after my working hours as an aide cook in a Vietnamese /Chinese restaurant I earned q certificate in computer technology during evening school .With all that behind the back I thought to myself that it was time for me to travel some land and decided to work as a freelancer in some other parts of the world and that is how I landed in this beautiful but amazing Thailand. You can say that it was love at first sight because I’m still here enjoying and loving it as much as my arrival the first day. Now I’m living here for nine years with more than half of this time in Chiangmai where I started sharing my experiences and knowledge with the Thai community working as an English, French and art teacher .What the future holds for me is unknown but where there’s a will there’s way, so the onlyadvice I can give to you all is LIVE YOUR LIFE AT THE FULLEST AND ENJOY EVERY SINGLE MOMENT OF IT. Alfredo Waga Hello everybody, I’m Alfredo Waga, you can call me Fred . I am a Filipino and I come from the southern part of the Philippines particularly in the island of Mindanao . I earned my Bachelor’s degree at the Mindanao State University, Philippines. Actually, I’ve been here in Thailand for more than 2 years now. So far , I really don’t have a hard time getting along with all the people here because as far as I know, Thai people are extremely kind and respectful. Basically, I’m an introvert type of a person but as much as possible I’m just trying to be open-minded in dealing people with different types of personalities. Whenever I’m back home, I will never forget this wonderful experience that I’m having now while I am still here. Thank you for treating me so well. All I can say is…..Thai people deserve to be cherished and treasured.
