Dear Colleagues, (Apologies to those who have received this more than

once, you appear on a different contact groups in my diary).

EDU-COM 2006 "Engagement and Empowerment:  New Opportunities for Growth in Higher Education" is the third international conference in a series of international collaboration in the 21st Century.  The previous conferences, EDU-COM 2002 and EDU-COM 2004, focussed on education without borders, partnership and sustainability.  Now, in 2006, universities are implementing many of the perceptions and ideas advanced in 2002 and 2004.  Increasingly, universities are in partnership with community organisations and industry, bridging cultural, economic and political boundaries, engaging with the community, empowering the community and university alike through active, purposeful collaboration.

EDU-COM 2006 seeks to build on these initiatives, again through the perceptions and ideas of conference delegates.  The four sub-themes of EDU-COM 2006 have been selected to enable delegates to address these newopportunities through their research interests.  

Please submit your abstract by 30th June, 2006. Abstracts can be lodged at the conference website on www.chs.ecu.edu.au/org/int_comm/edu-com/2006
