Look and See

It was a warm Winter afternoon down one of our dams. We went on a little inspection tour to see how things are. We always do look around tours as a part of environment check-up. We think we need to need to know how our environment is doing - for our own selfish reasons. If our environment is well and happy, we too live well and happy. On another hand if our environment is suffering and poor, we too live poorly and suffer various maladies. Sadly, many people can build their castles amidst rubbish piles and just isolate themselves from the environment and suffering out of their castles. Have you been on an inspection tour around your neighborhood?  Anyway, these are some of what saw:

 The jetty needs repairs.

This area can do with tidying up and some flowering plants.

Look up we can see an ant nest - build with dirt and mud carried 2-3 metres up from the ground. These ants are not trying to escape floods, but ant-eaters (one common native anteater is ‘echidna’ [ee-kid-naa]).

And 2 tawny frogmouth owls doing a ‘we don’t see you - you don’t see us’. So there is still enough food for them here this Winter.

So things are well in our environment. We have to do some maintenance work, but this is a very small price to pay for good living. We are lucky to have this environment in our back yard!
