โทรไม่ขับ ขับไม่โทร Cell Phone Driving Ban

 

ตั้งแต่วันที่ 8 พฤษภาคม เป็นต้นไปผู้ใช้รถใช้ถนน (motorists) ชาวไทยจะขับไปโทรไปไม่ได้แล้ว พี่จ่าเขาจะเตือนก่อน แล้วจากนั้นเขาจะปรับเอาจริงแล้วนะ ต่อไปนี้พวกเราพอขึ้นรถแล้วนอกจากจะคาดเข็มขัดนิรภัย แล้วยังต้องเตรียมแฮนด์ฟรีเผื่อต้องรับโทรศัพท์ขณะโทรด้วย

มาดูข่าวดีกว่า มีคำศัพท์อะไรน่ารู้มั่ง

 

Ban on Mobile phone use while driving was enforced from May 8.

 

Ban    คือการสั่งห้าม ในที่นี้คือการออกกฎหมายห้ามโทรขณะขับรถ

Enforce   คือ การบังคับใช้กฎหมาย

 

The law banning mobile phone use by drivers was published in the Royal Gazette beginning February 8, and would take effect three months from that date.

 

เมื่อมีการออกใช้กฎหมายใหม่ต้องมีการประกาศในราชกิจจานุเบกษาก่อนให้ประชาชนทราบแล้วจึงมีผลบังคับใช้หลังจากประกาศแล้วสามเดือน

 

 

Digital cameras would be used to monitor violators.

 

เห็นพี่ๆ ตำรวจได้รับแจกกล้องดิจิตอลกันไว้จับภาพผู้ฝ่าฝืน ช่วงนี้เขาแค่เตือนนะ

 


Violators would be fined from 400 to 1,000 baht (US$12-30). Drivers, however, are advised to use hands-free accessories while driving instead.

The law bans motorists from using hand-held mobile phones while driving but allows drivers to use hands-free devices. Exemptions would be granted for vehicles used by government agencies and emergency-rescue organisations.

อย่างไรก็ตามกฎหมายมีข้อยกเว้น (Exemption) สำหรับการใช้ยานพาหนะของทางการและหน่วยกู้ภัยต่างๆ


Research shows that using a hand-held or hands-free mobile phone while driving is a significant distraction.

งานวิจัยพบว่าไม่ว่าจะใช้โทรศัพท์ถือด้วยมือหรือใช้แฮนด์ฟรีก็ตาม ทำให้เสียสมาธิในการขับรถอยู่ดี
