"To make the UK the most attractive place in the world for science and innovation"
ทำไม? เพราะ
"Britain will only have a competitive edge if we develop world class leadership in the most technologically intensive and science-based industries and services."
ผมตีความว่า อังกฤษมุ่งเป็นประเทศอุตสาหกรรมความรู้ (knowledge industry) ไม่ใช่อุตสาหกรรมการผลิตอีกต่อไป
