DEFINTION OF THE STUDY
The word “ Kamma” means a volitional action which makes the mind in a peaceful atmosphere. If a good action is done then it comes to reward you a good result. On the other hand if you do a bad action then it is result also will be very bad. In other words we can say that “Kamma” means a middle path between good and evil action.
The word “Law of Kamma” means law of order in action and result.
The word the Kamma of action is a course of action a way of action or Kamma as the way leading to the woeful, blissfull existences. The word “Kamma-process” means the active process of becoming.
The word “Kammakilesa” means an action causing impurity. The word “Result of Kamma” means the result of an action that we do. When we do an action there will be a result for that. The result can be good or bad depends upon our action. Our actions will produce a result, no matter whether it is good or bad.
The word “Outside the law of Kamma” would mean that all those who are not enlightened, will come under the purview of the wheel of “Kamma”.
The word “Buddhist” would mean a group of people who adopt the teachings of Lord Buddha, and who loves him with all their heart and soul. As Lord Buddha himself said :
Buddham saranam gacchami.
Dhammam saranam gacchami.
Sanggham saranam gacchami.
There can be “Misunderstanding” with regards to the meaning of the word “Kamma”. For the exact meaning of the word we must refer Tripitaka, because it is the ultimate source of clarification.
The word “Kilesa” would mean that something which is hiddhen in ones mind, but it brings forth bad effect or good effect. If your ideas are bad then you are liable to bring forth bad result. There is a great need to keep our minds purified.
In this context the word “ Vipaka” would mean that the consequence of an evil action will be always evil. We will alweys receive the result of our “Kamma”.
The word “ Vatta” would mean that the cycle of rebirth, our rebirth entirely depends upon “ Kamma”. As long as we complete the action of our kamma . we will be alweys taking rebirth. The cycle of bieth and rebirth depends upon “ Kamma”.
The word “ Paticcasamuppada” would mean the law of causation. The word “ Hell” would mean a place where sufferings and unhappiness is prevalent. People who have done evil actions will surely go to “ Hell”, a place where there will be always sufferings and hardships.
The word “ Heaven” would mean just the opposite. A place where we find happiness and bliss all through. People who have done good actions will com to this place and will enjoy.
The word “ Sugati” would mean the happy state, or the blissfull state of existence.
The word “ Dugati” would mean the state of unhappiness and woeful existence.
The word “ Punna” would mean the merit of our good works. When we do a good action, we get good in return.
The word “ Papa” would mean the wrong action or the sin that we do.
The word “ Apaya” would mean the state of loss and woe.
The word “ Vinipata” would mean the place of suffering and birth of demons.
The word “ Devathuta” referrer to gods and messengers who come with divine messages, a symbolic home for those things which remind man of his future and rouse him to earnest striving.
The word “ Nirayapala” referes to the lord of the underworld.
The ruler who is in all in the kingdom of the dead.
