เมื่อวันที่ 19 มิถุนายน 2562 สำนักจัดอันดับ QuacquarelliSymonds (QS) ได้ประกาศผลการจัดอันดับมหาวิทยาลัยโลกประจำปี ค.ศ. 2020 จำนวน 1000 อันดับที่เรียกว่า QS World University Rankings 2020 ที่ https://www.topuniversities.com/university-rankings/world-university-rankings/2020
การจัดอันดับครั้งนี้ปรากฏผลอันดับมหาวิทยาลัยโลกที่น่าสนใจ ดังต่อไปนี้

มหาวิทยาลัยในภูมิภาคอาเซียนที่อันดับดีขึ้นส่วนใหญ่เป็นมหาวิทยาลัยในประเทศมาเลเซีย สำหรับประเทศไทย ที่อันดับดีขึ้นบ้างเล็กน้อยมีเพียงจุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย มหาวิทยาลัยมหิดล และมหาวิทยาลัยเชียงใหม่(ผู้ที่สนใจผลการจัดอันดับมหาวิทยาลัยครั้งก่อนหน้านี้ เพื่อเปรียบเทียบกับการจัดอันดับครั้งนี้สามารถดู QSWorld University Rankings 2019 ย้อนหลังได้ที่ https://www.gotoknow.org/posts/647990)
สำหรับเกณฑ์ในการจัดอันดับ QS World University Rankings 2020 ประกอบด้วยตัวชี้วัด 6 ด้าน คือ 1) Academic Reputation 40%, 2)Employer Reputation 10%, 3) Faculty/StudentRatio 20%, 4) Citations Per Faculty20%, 5) International Faculty Ratio 5% และ 6) International Student Ratio 5% โดยรายละเอียดของ Methodology สามารถดูได้ที่ https://www.topuniversities.com/qs-world-university-rankings/methodology

I wonder if anyone/university has correlated the ranking to public perception (on quality of education/university) and government’s science-based policies (see https://www.sciencemag.org/news/2019/06/global-survey-finds-strong-support-scientists).
We may be lacking in applications and local innovations of education in many arenas.
