Phra Wimondhammaphan (Thai: พระวิมลธรรมภาณ; Phra Wimondhammaphan; A.D. 1921–1994; B.E. 2464–2537), Name and Surname was Vivian Boonmark (Thai: วิเวียร บุญมาก),dharma name was Thitaboonyo (BALI: ฐิตบุญโญ) and was the Second Cardinal of Wat Duangkhae. He was appointed to the position in 1993 by King Bhumibol Adulyadej. He has been respected from many people as a good monk who is said that he possessed magical powers. Moreover, he also followed on the principle of dhamma and discipline strictly. He turned 72 in November 1993, and died later in February 1994.

Early life and ordination

Luangpu Vivian Thitaboonyo or Phra Wimondhammaphan (Luanpu Vivian Boonmark) was born on 9 November 1921 (B.E. 2464) in Nakhon Sawan Province, Thailand. He was one of 6 siblings interesting in religion and monastic life like his brother (Pra Prommunee; Vichamai Boonmark; Wat Bovoranives). Luanpu Vivian was ordained as a novice at the age of Eighteen, (19 July 1939), and was ordained as monk at the age of twenty (24 May 1941) with Venerable Somdet Phramahasamanachao Krom Phraya Wachirayanwarorot (Wat Bovoranives) as his preceptor, Venerable Pra Prommunee (Pin); (Wat Bovoranives) as First Ordination teacher and Venerable Phra Wimondhammaphan (Rut) (Wat Duangkhae) as Second Ordination teacher at Wat Duangkhae. His preceptor gave him the Pali name Thitaboonyo, meaning Person making Merit frequently. He has passed the First – Second Level of Pali studies including Dhamma Scholar Advanced Level studies. He turns into a student of Luangpu Yoo Intasaro (Disciple of Luangpor Derm) and Luangpu Sing Kuntayamo (Disciple of Ajahn Mun).

Meeting Luangpu Yoo and Luangpu Sing

After had passed the First – Second Level of Pali and Dhamma Scholar Advanced Level studies, Luangpu Vivian (Phra Wimondhammaphan Thitaboonyo) learned the tranquility meditation and insight mediation together with magic spells from Phra Kruniwutprommachan (Luangpu Yoo Intasaro ; stepfather of laungpu Vivian) and Phra Yanavisitsamitthivivara (Luanpu Sing kuntiyamo; Disciple of Ajahn Mun). Moreover, there were many instructors which gave subjects and knowledge such as Phra Krupinisamachara (Luangpor Do; Wat namatum) and Pra Rachayanadirok (Luangpu Chit; Wat Khaotao) and so on. When he had completed all learning followed by his Venerable instructor, he brought to all knowledge for developing many materials and permanent structures in monastery and lay people according to the principles of Buddhism and the code of Buddhist discipline excellently.

Development and Death

Phra Wimondhammaphan (Luanpu Vivian Boonmark) has established and developed many materials and permanent structures such as Ordination Hall, Monk's Cell, Image hall and Pavilion and so on. In side of human development, he has developed both monks and lay people to be very good person on the principles of Buddhism (The teachings of the Buddha; To cultivate good, To avoid evil, To purify one's mind), for example, Education Foundation establishment for monks and lay people etc.. Luanpu Vivian's health was in decline due to diabetes. He was taken to at Phyathai 2 Hospital to relieve seizure caused by the diabetes on 25 December 1993 until his death on 10 February 1993, at the age of 72. Funeral Watering Ceremony took place on 10 February 1993 and later The Royal Cremation Ceremony was held at Duangkhae temple after funeral chanting for hundred days completely.

The Sacred Amulet of Phra Wimondhammaphan

Phra Wimondhammaphan (Luanpu Vivian Boonmark) has created the sacred amulet every year for distributing people in the different important ceremony or religious ceremony for memorial to do good thing without do evil including people making merit, practicing the meditation, worshiping and paying respect to him etc.. The sacred amulet was established to give people in different occasion annual such as Phra Kring Chinabunchon, Phra Pidta, Takrut Chinabunchon, Phra Somdej, Phra Rian (Coin) and Ruup Loor Meung Loi Ong and so on. Otherwise, Merit Anniversary of Phra Wimondhamaphan’ Death has been made by Wat Duangkhae Sangha and Disciples on November of every year (between 9 and 15; only one day).
