When I was working (in a government department), there was a 'fad jargon' (fashionable phrase) going around. It said "you can always the pretty one to work" (and not said "but you can't train an everyone to look good". This saying is of course 'not politically correct' and discriminatory. But sadly it true in societies even in present Thailand.
Real Knowledge is valued much less than really 'good Look'!
