I would call this "indiscrimation" (in-ability to decide). When we look at things --automatically-- we try to differentiate one thing from another --so we can say they are the same (or one we have seen before) or not. We extend (or add) our criteria (or qualifications) more and more until we are convinced that they are one and the same or they are nor --or we give up trying--. In Mathematics, this is one deep and foundational question!
What happens when we can't tell one thing from another? Good from Bad?
