คำที่ใช้ในการพิสูจน์ทางคณิตศาสตร์ที่พบเห็นทั่วไป

Proof (ตัวย่อ Pf.) – พิสูจน์

Suppose that – กำหนดให้

To show that – จะแสดงว่า

We will show that – เราจะแสดงว่า

Assume that – สมมติให้

Since - จาก,เนื่องจาก

From – จาก (ใช้ในการอ้างสมการก่อนหน้า)

By theorem – จากทฤษฎีบท

By lemma – จากบทแทรก

By definition – จากบทนิยาม

Let – ให้

Choose – เลือก

Consider – พิจารณา

Where – ที่ซึ่ง

Therefore – เพราะฉะนั้น

Thus – ดังนั้น

It implies that – แล้วจะได้ว่า,
แสดงให้เห็นว่า

Clearly - จะเห็นได้ชัดว่า

We obtain – เราจะได้ว่า

If…then… - ถ้า…แล้ว

then – แล้วจะได้ว่า , นอกจากนั้น

We conclude that – เราสามารถสรุปได้ว่า

Hence – จึงสรุปได้ว่า

"suppost that" is the same as "assume that" -- both advance a supposition/hypothesis

"lemma" in mathematics is small but proven supposition used as a stepping stone in proving more complex supposition/theory. "lemma" is not an "incidental" or "addenda" (บทแทรก) but a "component" part of a whole (proof).

"clearly" (note a little "l" before "y").
