After some 10 months in drought conditions, we are looking up the skies and hoping to see dark rain-bearing clouds. Looking around us we see dry dams like this one in the paddock:
and our house water supply tank like this:
and our fish pond like this:
We don't have enough grass for Andy (the horse). So he need some food supplements like this
Well, lots of mangoes are not really good for him. But mangoes are what available. So Andy has to swallow his pride and to pretend he loves mangoes. (you should see the way he scoops up one whole mango, and one second later spits out the mango seed -- clean of mango flesh! ;-)
Where are rainbows?

I love mango....
Such a related article to my next one! (In process) May I refer this interesting information in my article below. Thanks in advance.
W do love mangoes but we only love 2 or 3 mangoes every few days. This year we made mango sauces, mango yam, mango (dry) leathers, green mango powder (for sprinkling on dishes like pepper and salt), frozen mangoes, mango ice cream, mango yoghurt, mango ice blocks, ...
We had our last mangoes, yesterday. Now we are waiting for dragonfruits (cactus pitaya fruits). If we can give the plants enough water to bear fruits. They are cactus, so they will survive the drought but tough as they are, they have limitations ;-)
Poor Andy had to eat Mangoes replace grass.
But he have dry leaf to eat no need to eat mangoes...hehehehe
Hope you get raining soon.
Dear ไอดิน-กลิ่นไม้: You are welcome to use whatever information in any of my posts. If you are writing about "drought", I have some info on worldwide drought affected areas and possible implications on world food production too. Please email me so I can forward this info. ;-)
Hi Dr จันทวรรณ: I had thought there might be a cycle of droughts every 14 years. But we had a 5 monthd mini-drought 5 years ago and now a severe and 10 months+ drought and in many more places (from Oregon USA down to Central Mexico; parts of Brazil and Amazon forests and Agentina; parts of W#est Coast of Africa; paarts of Central Asia, East coast of China and (North) Vietnam, Malaysia and some souther provinces in Thailand; central/inland areas of Australia);... And it is likely to get worse in many more areas. I would looking to get discussion, ideas and solutions on droughts in Thailand this year!
Thank you Dr. Ple : I get nostagious looking at flowers common in Thailand.
Hi ยง : Horses are very much like people in choosing what to eat. Maybe all animals have their list of food from most loved to most hated. For Andy, he lists things like apples, mangoes, bananas, carrots, bread, cakes, ... very high; things like oranges, pineapples, pawpaws, ... are 'if I must'; and things like bones, meat or animal products of any kind... as 'don't want to see'. Complete vegetarian this horse is!
