  • I am very honored to join The Future of Sustainable Tourism in Myanmar, and many thanks for the organizer, Ministry of Hotel and Tourism and Mekong Tourism through Dr. Mason Florence for inviting me.

  • As a Secretary-General of Foundation for International Human Resource Development in Thailand, I am interested in the future cooperation among GMS Countries and I had done many projects for developing the future of  sustainable tourism in Myanmar such as;
    • Cooperating with Department of Technical and Economic Cooperation (DTEC), Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, Royal Thai Embassy of Myanmar, Tourism Authority of Thailand and Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry to organize Learning Forum “Tourism, Globalization and Sufficiency Economy in Myanmar” at Sedona Hotel, Yangon in Myanmar on 21-23 July 2004.
    • Research on Human Resource in GMS Tourism Sector: Learning Forum on Myanmar’s Tourism Sector and Human Resources
      on August 28, 2008
    • International Conference on GMS Tourism (22 – 24 January, 2010 at Hua-Hin, Thailand.)

  • In my opinion about “The Future of Sustainable Tourism in Myanmar”, there are 7 main issues which are important as following;

 The first one is “Opportunities” such as;

      Globalization

      AEC

 The second is “Threats/Risks” such as;

      Political Development

      Economic Liberalization

 The third is “Strengths” such as;

      Rich of Natural Resources

      Culture

      Learning Culture

 The forth is “Weakness” such as;

      Attitude

 The fifth is “Sustainability’s Factors” – May I present my concept is called “Chira’s factors for Sustainability”

1) Short-term Projects/Activities will not destroy the long – term

2) Environment Care and Protection - Green Development

3) Development based on Moral, Ethics and Good Governance.

4) Learning Culture & Learning Society

5) Bridging the gap between developed areas and

    Undeveloped areas

6) Self – reliance

The sixth is “Effective Human Capital Development” – As more than 30 years experience, I’ve developed 8K’s+5K’s Theory as following;

8 K’s Theory: basic in Human  Resource Developmentwhich consist of;

1)  Human Capital

2)  Intellectual Capital

3)  Ethical Capital

4)  Happiness Capital

5)  Social Capital

6)  Sustainability Capital

7)  Digital Capital

8)  Talented Capital

5 K’s(New)Theory: Human Resource Development in globalizationwhich consist of;

1)  Creativity Capital

2)  Knowledge Capital

3)  Innovation Capital

4)  Cultural  Capital

5)  Emotional Capital

The seventh is (the last one) is “Networks and Cooperation among our countries”

      Strategic long-term planning /projects – win/win

      Implementing / Execution

      Follow up

      Feedback Learning and Sharing Knowledge

      Innovations Development

Thank you very much.
