อาจารย์แหววขอบคุณอาจารย์พรชัย ที่ร่วมทางในการสร้างสรรค์วิชาการด้วยกันเสมอมา เราสองคนโชคดีที่มีบิดาแห่งความคิดที่ให้โอกาสแก่เราที่จะคิดสร้างวิชาการใหม่สำหรับสังคมไทย เรายังต้องการมิตรที่ทำงานสร้างด้วยกันอีกมาก งานเสวนาครั้งนี้ทำให้เราสองคนตระหนักในพลังคนรุ่นเยาว์ในการสร้างต่อไปใช่ไหมคะ ?

         The stage of social development at which Thailand finds herself confirms to us that there remains the need to have a "father figure" identify himself with a worthy social cause in order to mobilize a right combination of noble efforts and resources if desirable and constructive results are to be brought into reality in time to be enjoyed by the society here and now. Prof. Kanung is one of such a father figure in the current streams of Thailand's social development.  He fills his retirement years with productive forces creating a working environment conducive to cultivating a network of legal academic and sociological pursuits evolving around international law in general and conflicts of law in particular to engage in several initiatives and activities making legal academic and social advancement worthy of praise to Thailand.  Prof. Kanung' s years of working experience in senior ranking offices in Thailand's political, civil service and legal academic arenas places him in unique position to play this father figure's role which he accepts and benevolently discharges with a powerful, productive and constructive momentum the fruits of which are visible all round to us and the public.  The working environment generated by his sponsorship and mobilization allows may young - which otherwise would have continued to be - "undiscovered talents" to spring up and turn their brains and energies to good use which is evident in the fruits of the so many initiatives and activities already and yet to be accomplished.  As an expression of gratitude to Prof. Kanung, I hope, all these young talents will continue working together and remain united in their efforts to help maintain and grow the productive and constructive momentum of the forces of the academic and social development the course of which has been charted out by Prof. Kanung to the benefit of Thailand and many more young talents to join into the network after them.
