คนที่ตั้งใจจริง ย่อมมีหนทางเสมอ

A willful man will have his way.


มีความอุตสาหะแล้ว ไม่มีอะไรที่จะเป็นไปไม่ได้

To industry nothing is impossible.


จงรู้จักพอประมาณในทุกสิ่งทุกอย่าง

Moderation in all things.


สิ่งดี ๆ ย่อมจบลงด้วยดี

Alls well that ends well.


ความเชื่อมั่นในตน คือ เคล็ดลับประการแรกของความสำเร็จ

Self-trust is the first secret of success.


ความทรงจำ คือ อนุทินประจำตัวเรา

Memory is the diary we all carry about with us.

 

 

๒.

สิ่งที่ไม่สามารถแก้ไขได้ เราก็ต้องใช้ความอดทนเข้ารับไว้

What cannot be cured must be endured.


อุปสรรคทำให้จิตใจเข้มแข็ง
การใช้แรงงานทำให้ร่างกายแข็งแรง

Difficulties strengthen the mind,
as labour does the body.


ผลงานที่ยิ่งใหญ่
มิได้เกิดจากความแข็งแรง
แต่เกิดจากความเพียรพยายาม

Great works are performed not by strengh
but by perserveance.


ความรู้ได้มาจากประสบการณ์เท่านั้น

Knowledge comes from experience alone.

 

 

๓.

"ตัวอย่าง" ดีกว่า คำสอน

Examples are better than oral teaching.


คนดีไม่เบ่ง คนเก่งไม่โม้ คนโตไม่อวด

A good man does not extol himself.
A clever man never boasts.
A great man never brags.


เวลาที่ไม่ต้องการ จะนานที่สุด

Time unused is the longest time.


ไฟย่อมไม่อิ่มด้วยเชื้อ

There is no saturating the fire with fuel.


ความคิดที่ดีที่สุดของเรา มักจะมาจากผู้อื่น

Our best thought comes from others.

 

 

๔.

จนแต่มีเกียรติ ดีกว่ามั่งมีแต่อัปยศ

Poverty with dignity is better than wealth based on shame.


คนตาดี มักตกบ่อลึก

Those with good eyes are inclined to fall into deep wells.


จมโลกแล้วยากที่จะปีนขึ้นพ้นโลก

It is difficult to emerge from the world.
It is easy to be submerged in it.


การทำงานอย่าใช้แต่เท้าเดิน จงใช้หัวเดินด้วย

In working, walk not only with your feet, but also with your head.


การสังเกตเป็นครูที่ดีที่สุด

Observation is the best teacher.

 

 

๕.

จงทำดี แต่อย่าเด่น จะเป็นภัย

Do try to do good but not to be great, other wise you will be in danger.


การล่ามช้างด้วยใยบัว ยังง่ายกว่าการสอนคนห่าม

It is easier to chain an elephant with lotus fiber than to teach a crazy person.


... คนเรา ...
มีเวลาโง่ด้วยกันทุกคน
แต่ไม่มีใครโง่ตลอดกาล

Everyone may be a fool
but nobody is a fool for ever.


จงเรียนรู้ในสิ่งที่ท่านจะทำ

Learning something that you may do something.
