Rural life

Sawasdee kaa,

First of all, I do apologize for writing in English as my computer system died last week and I had to install all programs again, still can’t find Thai font yet.
Right! Let me introduce you all to my first blog. As I am the resident of UK. now for sometime. The town I am living in is called Aberystwyth ( A-Ba-Ris-With)  with my family for almost 6 years. It is such a nice little place in mid Wales, people use English-Welsh in everyday life, as well as schools, parents can choose to send their kids to either English media school (teaching Welsh as 2nd Lan) or Welsh media school. My children go to English school as the point that myself and my husband can’t speak Welsh. Even though we live in Wales, I think there are fair amount of English people live there as well ( including us, we originally lived in a town called Warrington, not far from Manchester). Some of my colleagues are mixtures of  the local and English. They, of course, have totally different kind of accents. I myself find that the Welsh, when they speak English, have the same intonation as Thai people speaking English.

The view of the bay on a nice day.

Town Centre ( if you notice, the sign posts display in both languages) In the photo, I remember it was on Chinese new year celebration, the town council hung up Chinese lanterns to welcome the event.

Well, just a brief introduction of Aberystwyth. If anyone is interested to look at this town in more details, go to goggle.co.uk. Bye for today, hopefully, my 2nd story should be in Thai.

Many thanks
Mrs. Pukkie
