Qualitative has to do only with the quality (characteristics, properties, attributes):

Quantitative has to do only with quantity(amount, measure, size, volume):
Quantitative analysis enable a chemist to discover the amounts and proportions of constituents in a given substance.”
“On a quantitative basis, this skein of wool is superior to that one because it is 5 yards longer.”
