อธิบาย การใช้ “behind”
เป็น บุพบท
ถ้าคุณ “are behind” บางสิ่ง หมายถึง
“คุณอยู่ที่ด้านหลังของสิ่งนั้น” เช่น
‘They parked the motorcycle behind some bushes.’
‘Just behind the cottage there was a shed.’
ข้อควรระวัง:
อย่าใช้ “of” ตามหลัง “behind” เช่น
อย่ากล่าวว่า “They parked the motorcycle behind of some bushes.’
ถ้า โครงการหนึ่ง “is behind schedule” หมายถึง
“มันเสร็จ ล่าช้าว่า ที่วางแผนไว้ หรือ คาดหวังไว้” เช่น
‘The project is several months behind schedule.’
ยังสามารถใช้ “behind” เป็น กริยาวิเศษณ์ เช่น
‘The other police officers followed behind.’
‘Several customers have fallen behind with their payments.’
