การใช้ภาษาอังกฤษ ที่ถือว่าถูกต้องนี้ อ้างอิงตามมาตรฐานของภาษา

(DPWE) ให้ความหมาย กริยา “VISIT”

คือ “to pay a call upon” = เข้าเยี่ยม” หรือ “to go to see” = เข้าพบ

‘He left me to visit another friend.’

มาจาก Latin “videre” หมายถึง “to see”

ต่อมาจัดรูปเป็น “visis” อันเป็นต้นกำเนิดของ “vid” และ “vis”

คำต่างๆ ที่แปรมาจาก “videre” รวมถึง

สิ่งใดๆ ที่ Visible นั้น “สามารถมองเห็นได้”

บางสิ่งที่ evident (ก็) สามารถมองเห็นได้ (sensed)= รับรู้ได้ หรือ เข้าใจได้

และ Video คือส่วนของโทรทัศน์ที่สามารถมองเห็นได้ นอกจากส่วนที่ได้ยิน

และ Vision คือ ความสามารถที่จะมองเห็น

ส่วน Visit คือ การไป บางแห่งเพื่อพบกับบางคน

ถ้า คุณ “visit” สถานที่หนึ่ง หมายถึง คุณไปที่นั่น เป็นช่วงเวลาสั้นๆ
