วิธีดูพระ (ทรงเครื่อง)


We have (got/given/handed) Buddhistic amulets or talismans for protection and charm eversince we are born. Some amulets are passed on as heirloom in family for many generations. There are never questions about authenticity of the amulets. Real or fake, blessed or not-secrated, valuable or worthless,... Amulets are about belief and spirituality, not about materials or arts collection. Amulets are more than "placebo" pills for the mind. But amulets are not "medicine" for the body either. We can choose to be Buddhists with amulets around our necks. We can choose to be Buddhists with the Buddha's Teaching in our daily life. We do not question our friends nor others about their spiritual belief. Theravada or Zen or any religion they belong, amulets or pendants or trinkets they wear, insignia or memorabilia or gadget device they choose,... Personal differences or preferences also about belief and spirituality, not about logics or correctness. Personality is expressed through the way we choose to "profile" ourselves externally. Personality is also perceived by others to be the "real" character under cover. We can choose to profile ourselves as warm friendly, helpful and honest person. We can choose to show ourselves as strong, powerful and rich. We can show ourselves in myriad ways -- not just good or bad; or real or fake;...

We have now come to reflect on our society or environment that influences our lives. A question we are asked to decide. After our decisions, we shall have to act. Whichever way we choose to do or believe will change our ways of lives and in turn change our society and environment.


Staying undecided is to allow "lobbyists" to gain control over our lives. So reflect and decide carefully. May "right view" be our guide.
