Implosion เป็นการแตกออก ที่คล้ายคลึงกัน แต่ไปในทิศทางที่เข้าสู่ด้านใน
เมื่อถังก๊าซ explode เศษโลหะจะกระจายออก
แต่เมื่อ implode หมายถึง กำแพงพังลงและตกเข้าด้านใน implosion
ความแตกต่างที่คล้ายกัน พบในคำว่า eruption = ประทุ และ irruption = บุกรุก
