จากงานวิจัยได้บอกว่า การนอน ระบบการหายใจ มีส่วนส่งผลถึงความสามารถในการกินอาหารของเด็กทารกอีกด้วย จากการศึกษางานวิจัย 2 เรื่อง คือ

Coexistence of sleep and Feeding Disturbances in Young Children ที่บอกว่าพฤติกรรมการนอนและการกินนั้นมีความเกี่ยวข้องกันซึ่งส่งผลต่อสุขภาพของเด็ก

Oral and respiratory control for preterm feeding ที่กล่าวถึงความสามารถการกินโดยจะทำความเข้าใจในเรื่องการควบคุมการดูด กลืน และ จังหวะการหายใจของเด็กด้วย

ดังนั้น งานวิจัยนี้น่าเชื่อถือระดับหนึ่ง ++ หลักฐานเชิงประจักษ์ลำดับ 1 ควรศึกษาเพิ่มเติมอีกมาก และมีความเหมาะสมกับบทบาทเด่นของนักกิจกรรมบำบัดจะมีการพัฒนาต่อยอดความรู้ให้ครอบคลุมเพื่อนำไปปรับใช้ในงานอาชีพตนเองได้
