Rock Man: on a road of change
A rock is at rest on a track near a tree up on a hill under a blue sky.
A man walks along the track.
By chance, he stumbles over the rock.
The man curses the rock, kicks it out of his way, and curses his luck.
The man continues on his way, still curses that bad rock and his bad luck.
The man is on his way, away, away.
A man is changed and becomes deranged -- after meeting a rock.
And the rock?
The same rock is at rest off the same track near the same tree on the same hill under the same blue sky.

So...should we be the rock?
Hi SR..
I guess perhaps this man drinks "on the rock" before taking a walk so he stumbles over the rock ;-))...just kidding..SR.
Here come ...what I've learnt from your post. Thanks SR...
The rock still be just a rock like Dhama. Nothing wrong with the rock itself only the man whose perception has changed towards his judgment over things around him.
Sorry SR I'm just practicing Buddism bit by bit :-)) correct me please as I need to learn more as well.
Thank you Dr. Ple
: I am reminded by your "การเปลี่่ยนแปลงดีเสมอ นะคะ .... โดยเฉพาะเปลี่ยนแปลงไปในทางดีๆ..." of a study in optimization methods. Essentially there are 2 general types of methods: a greedy walk (ie. choose the shortest/best way to the goal); and a random walk (ie. a trial and error/hit and miss way to the goal). The result of my study supports both types (even Nature uses least energy path and when things are stuck (at local optimun points), Nature blindly jumps ;-).
Dear โอ๋-อโณ
: If I was a Zen practitioner, I would be the man. After cursing, bitching, even kicking the rock, he left it and walked away -- away. He carried in mind the event and his bad "luck" but not the rock. Why not the rock? ;-)

: The simple story of a rock and a man serves to catch you and to lead you off your normal daily life -- in simple words it is a devil that comes to distract you and when you are not watching steal a little bit of your time, your life! Is that Dhamma? Did you change? (now that you will remember this story for some time) Did you walk away? (a little wiser or more confused? ;-)
And thanks those who came to visit and left a card. As many who have already noticed that 'sr' is like a wishing well. 'sr' may grant one wish to one of those wishers -- not necessary her/his wish -- just one of the wishes ;-)
