acceptance, approval : Same effect as ratification
accession : Same effect as ratification but not preceded by signature
adherence : A shorthand term for consent to be bound
comity : Principle or rules of politeness convenience or goodwill observed by government and court
compomis : Special agreement to take a dispute to an international court or tribunal
consent to be bound : To ratify or accede to a treaty
contracting state : A state which has consented to be bound by a treaty whether or not the treaty has entered into force
customary international law : Rules derived from general practice among state together with opinio juris
de facto : Existing as a matter of fact
de jure : Existing as a matter of law
domestic law : The internal law of state
erga mones : Valid for all
estoppel : The principle that a state cannot act consistently if it has acquiesced in a particular situation or taken a particular position with respect to it
ex gratia : Without admission of liability exchange of notes : Two or more instruments which constitute either a treaty or an MOU
exequatur : Formal approval by the receiving state of the appointment of a named person that head of a consular post
final act : Formal document recording the result of diplomatic conference, especially one to adopt a multilateral treaty
full powers : Formal document authorizing a person to sign a treaty or do other act with respect to a treaty
international law : The body of rules legally bying on state or other subject of international in relation each other
international legal personality : Being a person or legal entity to which international law attributes legal rights and obligation, mainly states and international organizations
intertemporal : The principle that fact must be assessed in the light of the international law at the relevant time, not the law at the time dispute arises or an issue falls to be decided
