ข้อมูลเกี่ยวกับการใช้การพับกระดาษในการบำบัดโรคสมาธิสั้น (ADHD)

  • "Researchers found that origami's bi-manual, "two hand" activity stimulated the interaction between the right and left hemispheres of the brain, and improved nonverbal and verbal intelligence of all the children involved. In the older children, they also found that the motor activity of using both hands developed imagination and figurative thinking. Origami has also been known to benefit children with Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder and emotional problems as it challenges the mind to create and memorize sequences. It fully engages the brain to help train the brain to focus. Origami can also benefit the elderly, the physically handicapped, or anyone else who wishes to keep their mind sharp and their fingers nimble." [ที่มา: Origami has big benefit, Ottawa University

  • "Some therapists have found that origami helps those with low self esteem, anxiety, ADHD, autism, mental retardation, and other psychological conditions. People who have been diagnosed with depression have found that origami gives them hope.
Interestingly, volunteers have taught origami to prison inmates. The act of folding paper allows some of the inmates to decrease their level of anxiety. Some prison inmates fold origami models to give to their wives or girlfriends. What better way to encourage a healthful mindset." [ที่มา : Health Benefits of Origami, Origami Resource Center]

  • Terry Johnston & Topeka, Kansas, USA (Since 1981) ใช้ "Helping clients in the last 18 years with problems of :- Low self esteem, anxiety, ADHD, Schizophrenia, Defiant disorder, Boredom, Rapport building etc.
He also used origami to assess their level of comprehension, ability to follow directions; to evaluate their attention span and tolerance level etc." [ที่มา : Origami in Mental Heath Therapy โดย George Ho]

  • Julie Medhurst, UK (2004) "As an Advisory Teacher, I have started working with children of Primary School age. The youngest was 6 years old. The children had a variety of difficulties, including: * Cerebral Palsy, * ADHD, * Autistic Spectrum Disorder, * Language difficulties, * Emotional difficulties, * Dyslexia, * Difficulties with literacy and numeracy."  [ที่มา : Origami in Mental Heath Therapy โดย George Ho]
