คณะกรรมการวิสาขบูชาโลกจาก ๑๒ ประเทศมาถึงมหาจุฬาฯ แล้ว และจะเริ่มประชุมในเวลา ๙.๐๐ ของวันนี้ อาสาสมัครหลายคนตื่นเต้นที่ได้ต้อนรรับผู้นำทางศาสนาพุทธศาสนาของประเทศต่างๆ เช่น ญี่ปุ่น ศรีลังกา เกาหลี และในประเทศยุโรปและอเมริกา

วันนี้ (๒๓) จะเป็นวันแรกของการเตรียมการประชุมคณะกรรมการนานาชาติเพื่อเตรียมการจัดงานวิสาขบูชาโลกที่จะจัดขึ้นในประเทศไทยระหว่างวันที่ ๒๓-๒๕ พฤศภาคม ๒๕๕๓

สำหรับการประชุมในวันนี้เป็นการประชุมของคณะกรรมการนานาชาติของ ๒ กรรมการใหญ่ที่่เรียกว่า "Executive committee" ซึ่งประกอบการคณะกรรมการของ สมาคมมหาวิทยาลัยพระพุทธศาสนานานาชาติ (International Association of Buddhist Universities:IABU) ซึ่งมีสมาิชิกทั่วโลก ๑๑๖ มหาิวิทยาลัย/วิทยาลัย

นอกจากนี้ ยังมีคณะกรรมการอีกชุดที่ประชุมร่วมกัน คือ คณะกรรมการบริหารของสมาคมวิสาขบูชาโลก (International Council of United Nations Day of Vesak: ICUNDV)  ซึ่งคณะกรรมการชุดนี้ จะมีหน้าที่หลักในการกำกับ กำหนดแนวทางในการจัดงานเฉลิมฉลองวันวิสาขบูชาโลกปีนี้ และปีอื่นๆ ในประเทศไทยและต่างประเทศ  สำหรับประธานบริหารของทั้งสองสมาคมคม คือ "พระธรรมโกศาจารย์, ศ.ดร. (ราชบัณฑิตกิตติมศักดิ์)" อธิการบดีมหาวิทยาลัยมหาจุฬาลงกรณราชวิทยาลัย

การประชุมจะมีขึ้นสามวันคือ ๒๓-๒๕ เดือนนี้  ส่วนรายละเอียดเพิ่มเติม และภาพของบรรยากาศการประชุม ผู้เขียนจะนำเสนอในช่วงบ่ายนี้ ซึ่งจะมีผู้สื่อข่าวมาสัมภาษณ์คณะจัดงานด้วย
