วันที่ 3-4 พฤศจิกายน 2551 พวกเรามีการนำเสนอโครงร่างงานวิจัยในส่วนของการนำสถิติมาใช้ให้เหมาะสมกับงานวิจัยของเรา

  • อาจารย์จะเน้นดูตั้งแต่ส่วนของ

  • การคำนวณกลุ่มตัวอย่าง

  • ถ้าเป็นงานวิจัยแบบ Randomized control trial จะต้องบอกวิธี Random ด้วย

  • การวิเคราะห์ข้อมูล

  • ข้อมูลของเราเป็นประเภทไหน จะใช้สถิติอะไร

พวกเรายังต้องปรับกระบวนการคิดนานมาก เพราะร้างลาการใช้ตัวเลขมานาน

  1. sample size calculation- How to select methods of the calculation

1.1 Type of the study outcome

    • Survival

    • Categorical

    • Poisson

    • Continuous  mean SD

 1) What is the research question?

 2) What is the study outcome? The current topic

 3) What is the study design?

·        Number of group being compared

·        Dependency of the outcome

·        Parallel vs. cross-over

·        Superiority vs. Non- inferiority

·        Planned  interim analysis ทำไปแล้วระยะหนึ่ง นำผลมาดูก่อนจะจบการวิจัยทำกรณีที่ไม่จำเป็นต้องทำต่อไป ถ้ามีปัญหา harmful  โดยให้ทีมอื่นทำให้  ทำมากกว่า 1 ครั้งได้

4) Parameters required by the calculation methods

·        Variation of the outcome(education guess) เดาอย่างมีความรู้ แต่ไม่ใช่ ครั้งเดียวเสร็จ  ทุกอย่างมี vary  เราสามารถนำมาจากงานวิจัยที่ทำคล้ายเรา จากต่างประเทศก็ได้  หรือตัวเลขจากงานประจำที่เคยทำมาก่อนนี้ก็ได้ จะเป็นข้อมูลที่ดีมาก

·        Effect size  minimum but meaningful and possible เหมือนแว่นขยาย เป็นเรื่องการตัดสิน มีความหมายและเป็นไปได้

·        Power = 80% or 90%

·        Significant level 0.01 0.05 0.1

·        VIF variance inflation factors Correlation             (-1 to 1)   0.5 สัมพันธ์กลางๆ 

 

·        SD  เป็นหัวใจของการเรียนสถิติ ถ้าไม่เข้าใจจะเรียนไม่ได้  เป็นผลต่างจาก mean ของข้อมูล

·        หา barrier ของตัวเองให้พบ   ไปทำ work book อาจารย์บัณฑิตอีกครั้ง

1.2 Approach

·        A Estimation-based   คำนวณเพื่อให้ได้ sample size เพียงพอ aim for the precise estimate to have a precision of at least +/-

·        Hypothesis testing based aim to have 80% or 90% power to detect

            ถ้ามี Hypothesis ชัดเจน

·        Extract method of distribution

·        n ใหญ่พอไหม  ถ้าใหญ่พอจะ normal เสมอ  

·        ถ้า n น้อยนำ raw data มาใช้ดีกว่า

·        ถ้าไม่พอ ใช้   Non-parametric

·        ใช้กับ Range ไม่ได้นำ continuous มาใช้   ใช้ median
