Literacy in the Information Age การรู้หนังสือในยุคข้อมูลข่าวสาร

 

ดิฉันไปอ่านเจอบทความวิจัย แล้วไปสะดุดกับประโยคหนึ่งในนั้น "Literacy is knowing where the truth lies."
บทความวิจัย พูดถึงการรู้หนังสือในยุคข้อมูลข่าวสาร เนื่องจากปัจจุบันเรามีช่องทางเข้าถึงความรู้ได้สะดวกหลากหลาย รวดเร็ว ทุกวันนี้  เพราะเทคโนโลยีอินเตอร์เน็ต เมื่อก่อนสมัยเด็กๆจะทำรายงานก็แห่กันไปห้องสมุด
เดี๋ยวนี้ใครมีอินเตอร์เน็ตก็ค้นคว้าได้สบายแค่เจ็ดปีก่อนตอนเรียน ป.โท จะหาบทความวิจัย ออนไลน์ยังมีไม่มากเท่าไหร่มาเรียนอีกครั้งนี่วิธีเรียนต่างกันเยอะแล้วเยาวชนกับการเรียนการรู้หนังสือสมัยนี้ไม่ต้องพูดถึง ประตูความรู้มันเปิดกว้างแต่นั่นก็หมายถึงการรับรู้ทั้งข้อเท็จจริงและสิ่งที่บิดเบือนความจริงรวมถึงสิ่งชวนเชื่อด้วย  

The late Dr. Stephen Marcus of University of California, Santa Barbara said in a conference presentation on integrating technology that "Literacy is knowing where the truth lies." He deliberately implied two meanings with this statement: people need to develop the necessary 'reading skills to enable them to seek out and identify sources of honest, straightforward, 'truthful information; and they also need to detect and read accurately those electronic texts that distort the truth. The skills of analysis, synthesis, and evaluation have always been important reading skills for students to master; but now, with the presence and operation of the Internet, these skills have become critical tools for the literate person."

มาดูคำจำกัดความของการรู้หนังสือบ้านเรามั่งค่ะ

According to Thailand's National Literacy Policy 2002, a 'literate person' is one who can read, write and calculate, as well as know how to solve problems through "Khit-pen" process, which consists of information on academic knowledge, self-knowledge, and environmental knowledge. He/she can make decisions to solve his/her problems by considering those three areas of information.

Information literate people have been described as those who ‘know when they need information, and are then able to identify, locate, evaluate, organise, and effectively use the information to address and help resolve personal, job related, or broader social issues and problems’.

ดังนั้นหมายความว่า อ่านออกเขียนได้คิดเลขได้ไม่พอซะแล้วต้องสามารถประเมิน
คัดกรองข้อมูลข่าวสารด้วยค่ะ

• บ้านเราขาดสามตัวหลังไปอย่างน่าเสียดาย
• การรู้หนังสือเลยเป็นแค่ท่องจำ ไม่ได้นำไปใช้ สอบเสร็จก็ลืม เป็นเรื่องเศร้าใจหลายๆๆ(อ้าว ภาษาอีสาออกมาได้ไง)
• ตามมาให้กำลังใจว่า เปิด blog ใหม่ก็ดี
• ตอบเมล์ไปแล้วครับ
• ขอไปทำงานแบบหัวฟูๆๆต่อ(มีว่าด้วยว่า มีผมให้หัวฟูด้วยหรือ ช้ำๆๆใจ ฮือๆๆๆ)

คงเป็นอย่างที่อาจารย์คิดเหมือนกันเพราะคนไทยอ่านหนังสือน้อยมากถ้าไปเพิ่มความรู้ด้านอื่นอีกคงยุ่งยากขึ้นขอเป็นกำลังใจให้อาจารย์นะครับ
