07.09.03-28 Manila & Tagay Tay, Philippines

First trip in Philippines, I went to the Linden Suite Hotel at 21.00 pm. Actually  It’s not good to go to Manila at night but I had a class on that day and I’d like to see my friend before I can’t for 3 week T_T 

This is my 1st time to be here in Manila. As for me, This trip is mainly about training. I came here to attend the Training/Workshop on Development of Productivity Specialist (DPS) organized by Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP). There're 25 participants from various countries.

1st and last week was conducted in the Linden Suites Hotel, Manila. 2nd week was in DAP Conference Center, Tagaytay. The mountain city 2 hrs. from Manila.

 

I had ever joined many training and this course is one of the most hard for me. Study, workshop and present everyday, my programs are about productivity techniques, IE, Innovation etc. for consulting. I had to do reports and presentations every night.

During this training, I hardly had a free day so whenever there's free time, I went out. I got 2 whole free days from 21 days in this program.

If you are thinking about Manila, for Thai people we have no idea where to go. When I ask our organizer about where to go, they all said about shopping mall, SM Mega Malls, Green Hills, Green Belt, Gateway, Robinson, ShangriLa Plaza, Podium, Mall of Asia etc. For me I think only one big mall would be enough since all the products in each mall are not different much. So I consult my city guide book, I plan to go to some Historical Places and Local market.

16 Sep. is the first free day I went to Intramulos, the ancient city of Philippines. The architecture was influenced by spanish during the colonization period. And the church is everywhere. I went to Fort Santiago, Manila Cathedral and St.Augustine Church. So here in Manila the scenary is interesting. Every church I went was having a wedding ceremony. It was very nice to witness the special moment there. (T_T)

After that I took the Jeepny (same “Song-Thaew” in Thai) and then I had a good walk along the Manila bay. 

16 Sep. I went to Tagaytay. I didn't realize that it's going to be a hectic week for all of us. We started our trip with Manila city tour. At First We went to Intramulos again but don’t have more time. I think many friends envied me coz I use half day to stayed there before them…hehe  and then to Rizal Park the Philippines' National Hero.

After that we took lunch in Mall of Asia, the biggest mall in Philippines. Then we arrived at DAP Conference Center. The climate is Tagaytay is cool and humid. It was nice.

The program in Tagaytay is mainly to develop the consulting skills to us. So we were divided into 2 groups and going to be the group of consultant to diagnosis organization. Working with 12 people from different countries under limited time with ambitious output. This is the real test of patience and tolerance. Finally after 1-2 am for 3 nights we came up with the meaningful result.

After spending serious hours on preparation and presentation, there's an International night. There's a Filipino cultural dance. The bamboo dance is really like the one we have here in Thailand and There’s a Thong Dance by guys. I call this a risky dance since you have to wear only small piece of cloth over your body. Ppl were wearing traditional cloth. I was wearing the traditional attire and shown Thai dance ‘Fon-tiean’. And that night I got national attire and presentation prize too…he he 

I headed back to Manila but along the way, we had a Tagaytay tour. Tagaytay is the city on the mountain and there's also volcano here. I visit the people park, the park on the mountain and then had a lunch at restaurant located on the mountain overlook the scenary of Taal Vocano and I went to the only theme park of Philippines, Enchanted Kingdom.

23 Oct, My 2nd free day, This day was more comfortable than my first day. I went to Green Hill and Mega Mall for shopping. The last week in Manila, I didn’t need to go back…Miss my new friends, my life and everything at here… T_T
