สืบเนื่องจากที่ ท่านผู้หญิงมณีรัตน์ บุนนาค ประพันธ์กลอน ความฝันอันสูงสุด โดยถอดความมาจากเพลง The Impossible Dream ซึ่งเป็นเพลงละครบรอดเวย์ มาจากเรื่อง Man of La Mancha แสดงระหว่างปี 2508-2514 บทละครเขียนโดย Dale Wasserman ทำนองเพลงโดย Mitch Leigh และคำร้องโดย Joe Darion ต่อมาได้รับการสร้างเป็นหนังในปี 2515 เป็นเรื่องราวของดอน กิโฮเต้ (Don Quixote)
