เมื่อวันที่ 1 มิถุนายน 2565 มีการประกาศผลการจัดอันดับมหาวิทยาลัยในภูมิภาคเอเชีย ประจำปี ค.ศ. 2022 โดยสำนัก Times Higher Education (THE) ที่เรียกว่า THE Asia University Rankings 2022 ที่ https://www.timeshighereducation.com/world-university-rankings/2022/regional-ranking#!/page/0/length/25/sort_by/rank/sort_order/asc/cols/stats
การจัดอันดับครั้งนี้ ปรากฏผลอันดับ (และคะแนนรวม) ที่น่าสนใจ ดังต่อไปนี้

การจัดอันดับมหาวิทยาลัยในภูมิภาคเอเชียโดย THE ในครั้งนี้ มีตัวชี้วัดตามที่ปรากฏที่ https://www.timeshighereducation.com/world-university-rankings/asia-university-rankings-2022-methodology ประกอบด้วยตัวชี้วัด 5 ด้าน คือ 1) Citations (30%), 2) Industry Income (Knowledge Transfer) (7.5%), 3) International Outlook (7.5%), 4) Research (30%) และ 5) Teaching (25%) โดยตัวชี้วัดด้านการสอน ยังประกอบด้วยตัวชี้วัดย่อยอีกเป็น Reputation survey (10%), Staff-to-student ratio (4.5%), Doctorate-to-bachelor’s ratio (2.25%),Doctorates-awarded-to academic staff ratio (6%) และ Institutional income (2.25%) โดยตัวชี้วัดด้านความเป็นนานาชาติ ยังประกอบด้วยตัวชี้วัดย่อย อีก เป็น Proportion of international students (2.5%), Proportion of international staff (2.5%) และ International collaboration (2.5%)
อนึ่ง ในช่วงก่อนการประกาศผลอันดับมหาวิทยาลัยในภูมิภาคเอเชียในปีนี้ มีรายงานข่าวว่า มหาวิทยาลัยใหญ่ 3 แห่งในประเทศจีน ได้ประกาศที่จะไม่ยอมให้สำนักจัดอันดับมหาวิทยาลัยอย่างน้อย 2 แห่ง นำชื่อมหาวิทยาลัยของตนไปจัดอันดับใดๆอีก ดังปรากฏเป็นข่าวไปทั่ววงการมหาวิทยาลัยโลก ใน University World News เมื่อวันที่ 11 พฤษาคม 2565 :
