Bring และ take และ fetch และ brought
Common Errors In English Usage
ให้ข้อสังเกตว่า “past tense”และ “past participle” ของ BRING
ในการใช้บางท้องถิ่น กำหนดว่า คือ “bring” “brang” “brung”
หากแต่ ในภาษาอังกฤษ มาตรฐาน คือ “bring” “brought” “brought”
Dictionary of Problem Words and Expression
“bring about” “bring around” “bring down”
“bring forward” “bring in” “bring off”
“bring on” “bring out” “bring over”
“bring to” “bring up”
“take aback” “take after” take apart”
“take back” “take for” “take on”
“take over” “take to” “take up”
แต่ ปรากฏว่า มีการใช้ แต่ละคำ ซ้ำซากมากมาย ซึ่งควรหลีกเลี่ยงเช่น
“take it lying down” “take it on the chin” “take a back seat” และ “take five”
เช่นเดียวกับ “bring to an end” ในเมื่อ "end” ก็เป็นการจบอยู่แล้ว
จึงไม่จำเป็นต้อง “bring”
สำนวนเก่าแก่ “bring to a head"
ซึ่งมีความหมายหนึ่ง ‘น่ารังเกียจว่า ทำให้เกิดหนอง’ จึงไม่น่าใช้
ควรแทนด้วย “precipitate” หรือ “crystallize”
หรือ ใช้ “bring to a boil” และ “bring to a climax”
ที่น่ารังเกียจ น้อยกว่ากว่า แต่ยังคงความฟุ่มเฟือยพอกัน
Collins COBUILD English Dictionary

This by itself is a confusion {ข้อสังเกตว่า “past tense”และ “past participle” ของ BRINGในการใช้บางท้องถิ่น กำหนดว่า คือ “bring” “brang” “brung”}. Because ‘brang’ and ‘brung’ are ‘slang’ words and should only be used in very particular situation. In proper English it is ‘bring, brought, brought’ – no need to memorize other forms.
I think ‘fetch’ has a general meaning with the sense of ‘go and find/get and bring back’ an object. For examples: Fetch some water. ; (a game with a dog) Fetch the stick.; Fetch a doctor. There is not necessarily a sense of possession. But ‘get’ has more a general sense of ‘take’ something from anywhere into possession. For examples: Get a degree. ; The hero gets the girl.; I get incomes by working.;…
But then we have “Get a doctor”=”Fetch a doctor” which proves your case. ;-)
