I like to think that I am one of those เทพยดา (ในจินตนาการ). I have learned (in the last 30 years) that keep trees is hard – quite hard. I have to learn biology, ecology, engineering, and material sciences. I have to roll up my sleeves and roll in dirt, water, dung, and mulch (of various descriptions) to keep trees growing (as I imagine they should be). On my way I have learned to survive droughts, floods, bush fires, poisons (the council and ‘main roads’ call vegetation control), motor oil, motor fume and particulates (all from human activities). I have learned to ride on winds, waters, worlds and changes. I cannot make a summary (or a theory) and say ‘that is it’. But ‘Keeping trees is hard – quite hard’ is keeping me (us – humanity) alive.
Very much the same reason (and can be traced back to demand for soy beans by CN) that trees in South American Amazon forests are being destroyed to make way for human enterprises (read it as for money).
This is why I say ‘Keeping trees is hard – quite hard’.
