เครือข่ายละครกรุงเทพ Bangkok Theatre Network

เครือข่ายละครกรุงเทพคือ กลุ่มผู้สร้างงานละครเวที ครูอาจารย์ที่สอนละคร กลุ่มประสานงานเครือข่ายศิลปะต่าง ๆ จำนวนหนึ่ง ที่มารวมตัวเป็นเครือข่ายเพื่อสร้างพลังและพื้นที่การเสนองานของตนเองสู่สาธารณะ โดยมีความเชื่อร่วมกันถึงความจำเป็นในการดำรงอยู่ที่เข้มแข็งและยั่งยืนของศิลปะในสังคม ถือกำเนิดขึ้นเมื่อนักการละครเห็นว่า ที่ผ่านมามีนักการละครรุ่นใหญ่ได้สร้างปรากฏการณ์ที่มีคุณค่าต่อวงการศิลปการละครมาเป็นระยะ ๆ แต่ศิลปการละครในเมืองไทยยังอ่อนแอ เพราะขาดการเชื่อมโยง เกื้อหนุนกัน จึงไม่เกิดการงอกเงยไปสู่ความเข้มแข็งในระยะยาว ประดิษฐ ประสาททอง หนึ่งในผู้ก่อตั้งเครือข่ายละครกรุงเทพได้ให้ความเห็นไว้ว่า “นอกจากศิลปะจะไม่ค่อยเติบโต หรือไม่ก็ต่างคนต่างโต แล้วมันยังโดดเดี่ยวอีก เมื่อมันโดดเดี่ยว มันก็ไม่เกิดพลัง และมันก็ไม่เกิดกำลังใจในการสร้างงาน” (2546)

เมื่อปีพ.ศ. 2545 มีการจัดประชุมอย่างเรียบง่ายไม่เป็นทางการระหว่างกลุ่มครู-อาจารย์ หนุ่มสาวที่สอนละครในสถาบันการศึกษา ซึ่งมีจำนวนผู้เข้าร่วมมากกว่าที่คาดหมาย ในวงประชุมเปิดโอกาสให้ได้พูดคุยแลกเปลี่ยนกันอย่างอิสระ บรรยากาศของการพบปะเต็มไปด้วยมิตรภาพ เกิดความสัมพันธ์ที่ดีต่อกัน จนได้บทสรุปร่วมกันว่าจะมีความร่วมมือกันมากขึ้น ส่งข่าวสารถึงกัน โดยให้คงความสัมพันธ์กันไว้อย่างหลวม ๆ ไม่มีกฎเกณฑ์ไปก่อน ต่อมาจึงจะพัฒนาสู่การจัดตั้งเป็นองค์กรเครือข่ายเต็มรูปแบบมาจนถึงปัจจุบัน

พันธกิจสำคัญของเครือข่ายคือ ช่วยเหลือเกื้อกูล สร้างเครือข่าย เชื่อมโยงคณะละคร กลุ่มศิลปิน ศิลปินอิสระ เพื่อก่อให้เกิดการสร้างสรรค์ และต่อยอดองก์ความรู้เพื่อพัฒนางานศิลปะละคร รวมทั้งส่งต่อแนวคิดนี้ไปยังนักการละครรุ่นใหม่ ๆ ให้สืบเนื่องอย่างยั่งยืน

ปัจจุบันเครือข่ายละครกรุงเทพ มีเครือข่ายสมาชิกร่วม 50 ราย ประกอบด้วยคณะละครอาชีพที่ไม่มุ่งผลกำไร คณะละครหนุ่มสาว กลุ่มละครนักศึกษา ชุมนุม/ชมรมการละคร ภาควิชาศิลปะการละครในสถาบันต่าง ๆ และศิลปินอิสระ แบ่งสมาชิกออกเป็น 3 หมวด คือ

สมาชิกสามัญ เป็นคณะละครที่ผลิตผลงานต่อสาธารณะต่อเนื่องและยาวนานกว่า 3 ปี และมีคุณสมบัติครบถ้วนตามระเบียบเครือข่ายละคร โดยกลุ่มสามัญทั้งหมดเป็นคณะกรรมการบริหารเทศกาลละครกรุงเทพ ปัจจุบันมีสมาชิกสามัญ ดังนี้ มะขามป้อม, มรดกใหม่, พระจันทร์เสี้ยว, แปดคูณแปด, บีฟลอร์, เสาสูง, นิวเธียเตอร์โซไซตี้, สมมุติ, เบบี้ไมม์, บางเพลย์ และอนัตตา รวม 11 คณะ

สมาชิกวิสามัญ เป็นกลุ่มที่ทำละครเวทีในหลายวัตถุประสงค์ เช่นละครเพื่อการพัฒนาเยาวชน ละครเพื่อการรณรงค์ ละครทางเลือก ฯลฯ มีผลงานสู่สาธารณะ แต่ไม่ต้องการจัดตั้งเป็นรูปองค์กรชัดเจน เป็นสมาชิกส่วนใหญ่ของเครือข่ายฯ

สมาชิกสถาบันการศึกษา เป็นกลุ่มชมรมละคร, กลุ่มอิสระ และ ภาควิชาที่มีการเรียนการสอนละครในมหาวิทยาลัย

The Bangkok Theatre Network is comprised of theatre practitioners, theatre teachers, a number of artist groups gathering to form a network, in order to empower practitioners and create a space to display their works publicly, based on the common belief about the necessity of a strong and sustainable art within our society. The idea was conceived when theatre practitioners saw that senior practitioners have regularly made valuable contributions to the art form, yet the existence of theatre in Thailand are still vulnerable due to lack of proper connection and synergy, and thus affecting their own growth. Pradit Prasartthong, one of the founders of the Bangkok Theatre Network, stated that “Apart from the fact that art is not growing, or growing separately, it is also not synergized. When it’s not synergized, there is no empowerment to it, and that is demoralizing” (2003)

In 2002, a simple inofficial meeting was held between theatre teachers from various educational institutes. The number of attendance was far more than expected. The atmosphere was friendly, ideas were being exchanged freely in the discussion, so much so that there was a general agreement for more future collaborations and correspondence. The relationship was rather loose and informal at first, but would eventully develop into a full-fledged network that it has become today.

BTN’s mission is to support, to build networks, to connect theatre groups, artistic groups and independent artists, to help them create and develop their knowledge of dramatic arts, as well as to pass on the knowledge to new generations of theatre practitioners for a sustainable development.

BTN currently has over 50 members, consisting of professional non-profit theatre troupes, young theatre practitioners, theater students, theatre clubs, department of dramatic arts from various universities, and independent artists. There are 3 types of membership.

Ordinary members - consist of theatre groups who have produced works regularly for more than 3 years, and pass all the requirements of membership of the BTN. All ordinary members are on the Board of the Bangkok Theatre Festival. The 11 ordinary members in the BTN are: Makhampom, Moradokmai, Crescent Moon, 8x8, B-Floor, Sao Soong, New Theatre Society, Sommoot, Babymime, Bang Play, and Anatta.

Extraordinary members - consist of groups who produce theatre for various objectives, such as youth development, campaign plays, alternative plays etc. Each member mus have produced works seen by the public, but are not required to have formal organizational structure. These members comprise the majority of the BTN.

Academic institutions members - consist of theatre clubs, independent theatre groups and departments of dramatic arts in universities.
