การใช้ภาษาอังกฤษ ที่ถือว่าถูกต้องในที่นี้ อ้างอิงตามมาตรฐานของภาษา
TILL & UNTIL
(AHD) อธิบาย การใช้ กริยา “TILL” และรูป “tilled” “tilling” “tills”
ในความหมาย “จัดเตรียม ‘ดิน’ เพื่อเพาะปลูก” (cultivate) เช่น ด้วยการไถ/คราด
รูป Adj. คือ “tillable”
สามารถใช้ “till” และ “until” เป็นได้ทั้ง ‘Conjunction’ และ ‘Preposition’
โดยที่สามารถใช้แทนกันได้ทั้งในการพูดและเขียน
ปกติใช้ “Until” เป็นคำเริ่มต้นประโยค เช่น

ข้อควรระวัง:
อย่าใช้ “till” หรือ ”until” เพื่อบอกว่า “บางสิ่งจะเกิดขึ้นก่อนถึงเวลาหนึ่ง”
อย่ากล่าวว่า “The work will be finished until four o’clock.’
ให้แทนว่า “The work will be finished by four o’clock.’
‘By 8.05 the groups were ready.’
‘Total sales reached 1 million by 2010.’
บ่อยครั้ง ใช้ “from” ร่วมกับ “till” หรือ ”until”
เพื่อบอกว่า “บางสิ่งเสร็จและจบเมื่อใด”
‘The ticket office will be open from 10.00am until 1.00 pm.’
‘They worked from dawn till dusk.’
ในประโยคลักษณะเช่นนี้ สามารถใช้ “TO” แทนที่ “till” หรือ ”until”
โดย บางครั้งใน UsE ใช้แทนด้วย “through”

ยังสามารถใช้ “present perfect” ใน “subordinate clause” ได้ด้วย
‘I’ll wait here until you have had your breakfast.’
เมื่อกล่าวถึง “เหตุการณ์ที่เกิดในอดีต”
ให้ใช้ “past simple” หรือ “past perfect” ใน “subordinate clause” นั้น
‘The plan remained secret until it was exposed by the press.’
‘He continued watching until I had driven off in my car.’
ข้อควรระวัง:
อย่าใช้ รูป “future” ใน “subordinate clause”
อย่ากล่าวว่า “Stay here with me till help will come.”
หรือ “I’ll wait here until you will have had your breakfast.”
