The Writing Interaction Mails below showed how good social relationships she has with AFS Thai Volunteers . Rosemary Whitcraft ‘s a very good kind-hearted and generous person who always did all the great things for Thai communities and also The World Education Society !

Yesterday morning, we at AFS Thailand were all shocked by the news of one of our good friends, Rosemary Whitcraft, who passed away peacefully.

Rosemary Whitcraft has truly dedicated herself in Intercultural Learning since starting with AFS Thailand on December 20, 1995.

A short biography of her long life written by Kevin, one of her sons, can best describe her.

“Our beloved Rosie,  wife of Mark, mother of Tom & Anna, Kevin & Malee and grandmother to Nicholas, Don, and Dylan; passed away peacefully on Christmas day after a short illness.  The family was together with her for her final hours.
As you all know Rosie was born in Akron, Ohio ; what wasn’t so well known is that it was on February 13th, 1925.  Rosie came to Thailand in 1958 and married Mark in Bangkok.
Rosemary valued your friendship and love over the years.
Besides her roles as wife, mother and grandmother, she was no housewife but worked all her life until 2009.   Her work included Indiana University/Prsarnmitr College, Battelle Memorial Institute – the Thailand Information Center, UNHCR, Saatchi & Saatchi, and AFS (American Field Service) amongst others.  Her last job at AFS was her passion – raising funds for student scholarships to send Thai high school students and teachers to destinations around the globe.
She was a freelance writer and researcher. Active over the years in the Soroptimists, the American Women’s Club of Thailand, National Museum Volunteers, Siam Society, President of the Neilson Hay’s Library, and Foreign Correspondents Club of Thailand.
As one of her crowning achievements Rosemary was the Associate Editor of the book “The King of Thailand in World Focus”.  As a result of this she was honored by two audiences with His Majesty the King.
Needless to say she was an active person.  A consummate believer in getting people together and to connect, she touched the lives of all of us.  Including the unique characteristic of loving her daughters in law.
We want to thank you for your friendship and love; she will be missed by all of us.”

Her unquestionable dedication of more than 15 years to AFS Thailand will always be remembered.

As friends, we will miss her deeply.

Please join us in this immense sorrow that we grieve the passing of Rosemary Whitcraft.

Dear Suporn:

Great report!  AFS  Thailand should support more volunteer teacher programs like this. We could then have "know the world" teacher education program open to all returnees and education representatives. An exhibit of  photos  and short reports could be presented for others to share.  Hope AFS management send your summary and a selection of the best photos to the Ministry of Education and AFS International IN Box..

Thank you very much!

Thanks for sending.  Do you or I or anyone else ever have any reason to complain.  We are all blessed so very much, in every way and every day.
