  • Turn diversity into excellence is important. We must understand cross cultural issues including culture. We have to ask local people in ASEAN to understand Indian culture. History is a great way to understand people.
  • Thailand has highest women’s participation rate in the world. We should care for dominant role of women.
  • HR must maximize diversity in such a way that impact work in a right way. HR must care for intangible aspects.
  • Talent management in SOEs and public sector is not good. Keep talents. You have to win talent wars.
  • Keep track of the turnover rate. Please invest in loyalty strategy.
  • KM comes first but it is not LO. LO comes with Learning Culture. Indians has one of the best learning cultures.
  • We need to think strategically and differently.
  • We need CEO to believe in the importance of human resources.
  • We need smart HR not Functional HR.
  • CEO, smart HR and non-HR (Line Managers) should work together.
  • We should have shared value and eliminate wrong mindset.
  • We should have cross functional team
  • Maximize Happiness Capital.

We have problem in convince people to talk to each people. We do not tell bad news to people.

Dr. Chira

Thai people do not talk directly. We should take Friday afternoon to talk about new ideas.

We should talk about Indian and other cultures not only Thai.

Dr. Chira

You need mentor to support staffs.

We should show example of success is possible.

Question

In Thailand, people prefer to work in Thailand but Philippines prefer work overseas and this is our culture. How can we solve this problem?

Dr. Chira

We should look at family decision. Thais are adjusting.

We want to make happy workplace.

Dr. Chira

Happy workplace is a part of Human Capital. If people are healthy, they want to work.

HR should recruit people with the right attitude.

Question

You talk about Gen Y. Please tell us your experience of dealing with them.

Dr. Chira

Older people must understand what is going on and the world of children. They must learn that life is changing so fast.

Younger generation need to be educated to speak politely and know how to appreciate.  They need to have mentor. They should mix with old people who are kind to younger people.

Old and young people should do activities together.
