Abstract

The purposes of this research were to construct and evaluate the efficiency of the guidance activity instruction package on the personal and social development of  Mathayom  Suksa 2 students of Chaiyasitthawas  “Phatana Sai Bamrung” secondary school on the 80/80 criterion to find out students development before and after participating in the guidance activity using the instruction package, and to study their attitude towards their participation in the guidance activity using the guidance activity instruction package.

The samples of this study were 25 Mathayom  Suksa 2 students of Mathayom  Suksa 2/1 class of Chaiyasitthawas“Phatana Sai Bamrung” school of Pathumthani Education Service Area 1, during the first semester of the academic year 2008. The samples were selected by means of Simple Random Sampling.

Research instruments include; a guidance activity instruction package for the purpose of studying the personal and social development of Mathayom  Suksa 2 students, pre-class activity and post-class activity exercise books, and an evaluation form for testing students’ affective domain on their participation in the class activity.

The data collected were analyzed by means of arithmetic mean ( ), Standard Deviation

(S.D.), and the data on students’ development before and after participating in the activity were analyzed by using the t-test.

The results of the research were as follows:

              1. The efficiency value of the 14 packages of guidance activity instruction package on the development of students’ personal and social development were between 80.00-83.20, and 92.40-95.60, and the efficiency value of the 14 packages combined was 86.88.

             2.  After participating in the guidance activity using the guidance activity instruction package students were found to have developed better at the level of significance of .05.

             3.  Students’ affective domain on their participation in the guidance activity using the guidance activity instruction package was at a very high level of the arithmetic mean ( ) of 4.33 and the standard deviation of 0.44.
