กลับมาจากปักกิ่ง มีอีเมลล์ให้อ่านและตอบอยู่มากมาย ฉบับหนึ่งใช้หัวข้อว่า “Contact from the Royal College of Pediatricians of Thailand” ส่งเมื่อวันที่ ๒เมษายน พ.ศ.๒๕๕๑
ผู้เขียนรีบบอกตั้งแต่ต้นว่า “Dear Archan Phuntip, I try to called your mobile phone for several days, but there was no response. So I try contact you by email instead.”
ก็แน่ล่ะซิคะ ก็ข้าพเจ้าแอบไปดูงานที่ปักกิ่ง
ท่านผู้เขียนอีเมลล์มีชื่อว่า Srivieng Pairojkul, M.D. เดาเป็นภาษาไทยว่า “ศรีเวียง” ท่านแนะนำตัวว่า เป็น “a pediatrician from the Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University. Actually, I'm a pediatric pulmonologist and allergist, but my interests also lie in children in difficult situations. Currently I'm directing a Child's Right Protection Program at Srinagarind teaching hospital. Our program offers forensic examination for abused children. We also conducts training for health personnel on child abused and child protection. I also worked intensively with children affected by tsunami.”
อ.แหวว รีบเปิดพจนานุกรมเลยล่ะ ก็ไม่รู้จักคำว่า pediatrician นี่นา wikipedia อธิบายว่า “Pediatrics (also spelled paediatrics) is the branch of medicine that deals with the medical care of infants, children, and adolescents.” เข้าใจแล้วค่ะ เป็นกุมารแพทย์นั่นเอง
ความรู้สึกตื่นเต้นเข้ามาแทนที่ แล้วกุมารแพทย์จะอยากมาเจอเราทำไมหนอ ?
คุณหมอศรีเวียง (มังนะ ?) อธิบายว่า “The Royal College of Pediatricians of Thailand wants to conduct an intensive review on situation of Thai children. We will devide the review into 5 parts: Pattern of illness, problems of preschool children, problems of school age children, adolescents, and children in difficult situations. I'll be responsible for the last part. Since you're an expert on issues of migrant children, we'd like to invite you to join the review. The information from the review will be shared with the pediatricians all over Thailand, and will be used for curriculum development of the pediatric residency training program. If you're interested in joining the review, we'll arrange a meeting, where our group meet and design the format of the review. We expect to have a conference in around September. The reviews will also be printed. I look forward to hearing from you. I hope we could collaborate together on this issue.”
เข้าใจแล้วล่ะค่ะ จะมาชวนข้าพเจ้าทำงานเกี่ยวกับเด็กอพยพ (migrant children) ได้เลยค่ะ ว่าแล้ว ก็เลยตอบคุณหมอไปว่า ยินดีที่จะร่วมงาน แต่สิ่งที่คุณหมอเรียกว่า review นั้นจะเป็นอย่างไรหนอ คงต้องคุยกันล่ะค่ะ เป็นงานที่ชวนตื่นเต้นอีกเช่นกัน
อีเมลล์มักจะนำมาซึ่งเรื่องน่าสนใจ คราวนี้ อ.แหววจะได้ร่วมงานกับกุมารแพทย์อีกแล้ว ครั้งก่อน ก็หลงเสน่ห์คุณหมออดิศักดิ์ ผลิตผลการพิมพ์ไปหนึ่งคน คุณหมออดิศักดิ์ทำเรื่องเด็กบาดเจ็บหรือตาย เวลาเราเห็นข่าวแบบนี้ เราก็จะนึกถึงคุณหมออดิศักดิ์ทุกที
ครั้งนี้ คงจะได้เจอกุมารแพทย์ที่น่ารักอีกคน อ.แหววรอคุณหมอศรีเวียง (มังนะ ?) ติดต่อกลับมา แล้วจะมาเล่าต่อค่ะ
