Serials in Cyberspace
Serials in Cyberspace is comprised of selective listings of web sites with electronic journal collections and services both inside and outside the U.S., miscellaneous collections and resources, selected e-journal titles and other web pages concerning serials that may be of interest to librarians. It was first developed in 1994 by Birdie MacLennan to accompany an article, "Electronic Serial Sites: Collections, Resources, and Services," that first appeared in the ARL Directory of Electronic Journals, Newsletters and Academic Discussion Lists, 4th ed., May 1994.
As web sites with serials content continue to proliferate at a phenomenal rate, it has been impossible to add or keep track of them all. This represents a small segment of selected sites and resources that I have found useful as a serials librarian. The nature of the web has changed dramatically since this site was first started. While most e-journal and full-text e-resources provided by libraries were freely accessible in 1994, many (most) now provide limited access or are significantly restricted to user communities by licensing agreements. In spite of these limitations, I still continue to maintain and update this site (like Sisyphus and his rock), but on a very irregular basis
