คำสอนสมเด็จพระสังฆราชที่ 22

โดยปกติคนเรา ย่อมมีหมู่คณะและถ้อยทีถ้อยอาศัยซึ่งกันและกัน จึงต้องมีการปลูกไมตรี ผูกมิตรไว้ในคนดีๆ ด้วยกันทั้งหลาย เมื่อมีไมตรี มีมิตรก็เชื่อว่ามีผู้สนับสนุน ทำให้ได้รับความสะดวกในกิจที่พึงทำ ผู้ขาดไมตรี ขาดมิตร ก็เท่ากับขาดผู้สนับสนุน แม้จะมีทรัพย์ มีความรู้ความสามารถ แต่ก็คับแคบเหมือนอย่างมีแต่ตนผู้เดียว ยากที่จะได้รับความสะดวกในกิจการ อย่าว่าแต่บุคคลต่อบุคคลเลย แม้แต่ประเทศต่อประเทศก็จำต้องมีไมตรีต่อกัน
