The word "binge-watch" has been chosen by Collins English Dictionary as its Word of the Year for 2015.

The word means "to watch a large number of television programs (especially all the shows from one series) in succession."

The word has become more relevant lately because it reflects the new way that many people view TV shows, due to video websites such as YouTube and streaming services such as Netflix.

Commentators said that the word is used often because it is now common for viewers to binge-watch a whole season of programs in one sitting, which, in the past, would have taken months.

Other words on the annual list included: "dadbod" (dad + body) - an untoned and slightly plump male physique, especially one considered attractive; "clean eating" - following a diet that contains only natural foods, and is low in sugar, salt, and fat; and "ghosting" - ending a relationship by ignoring all communication from the other person.
