I think we see a lot of use of 'turgid language' among politicians. The pollies often talk big and beautiful but hardly any 'substance' (of value/truth) at all.

'Turgid' in this sense is the same as 'tumid' and similar to 'rhetoric' or 'hypes' (or hyperbolic or exaggerated).

I hear more 'hypes' than 'turgid' or tumid talks'. Sometimes, people say 'it's all hypes.'
