The Error Analysis of writing Thai of the Lao Graduate Students in Ubon Ratchathani University.

This research purports to examine error in writing Thai of the Lao graduate students who have been pursuing their graduate programs in Ubon Ratchatani University during 2005-2006. The study is conducted by analyzing of 42 writing written by 21 Lao graduate students. Those of students wrote a couple pieces of essay on two different topics.

The finding have revealed that most significant errors found in the Lao students’ works are misspelling. Semantical word error and incorrect word orders, respectively. Of those errors are supposedly led by differences and similarities between Thai and Lao language, Nevertheless, causes of Lao students’ writing errors are still needed further empirical student.
