หลัก 3 ด้านในการตัดสินผลและสัดส่วนการให้คะแนน

3 Ms of Adjudication: Matter- Manner- Method (เนื้อหาสาระ- วาทศิลป์ - วิธีการนำเสนอ)
Asian Parliamentary Debate is assessed by each judge independently in an Adjudicator Panel composed for an odd member according to the following criteria;
1. Matter (40) Substance of the debate, the arguments and Evidence presented, and the logical reasoning and presentation of said arguments.
2. Manner (40) the of delivery, the persuasion skills, and the conduct of the debaters.
3. Method (20) the response to the dynamics of the debate, and the observance of the rules of debate.

POI = Point of information

A Point Of Information (POI) is a scenario in a debate during which a member of the opposing team stands up and requests a Point Of Information. If you accept, they will ask you a question, or possibly give you a statement, that you must then respond to (generally in under 15 seconds or so). Then you continue with your speech.

How to answer POI in a Debate

1. Finish your sentence.Don't let them cut you off.
2. Accept the POI by saying, 'yes please' or 'certainly' and turning towards the opponent.This is optional, so see the tips section about when you should or should not accept
3. Look the challenger square in the eye as they deliver their POI. Take in what they are saying, and how it supposedly contradicts the case you are making. What are they trying to prove?

4. Can you simply dismiss their POI?If they haven't asked a question, you can choose to mention this by saying, "I don't believe you asked a question". If they don't contradict you at all, you can mention this in a similar matter. This won't score you major points with the adjudicator, but it won't lose them either as long as it's justified - this is a perfectly legitimate way to dismiss POI's.

5. Can you just repeat yourself or your teammates?If you can rebut their POI with an argument that you or one of your teammates use in their speeches, then it will be a lot easier for you because you don't have to formulate an entirely new argument in your head.

6. Is it a minor enough point to concede?If the rest of your arguments are simply so over whelming that their POI won't make any difference (or they are nitpicking), you can answer with, "Even if that's true..." This serves as a bit of a slap in the face, and 'is that the best you've got?'

7. If you can't do any of the above, or you see an opportunity to completely shut them down, then the best way to argue against any POI is the same way you would rebut against any normal argument.
Attack the foundations of their POI. Is their data wrong? Are they contradicting themselves? Etcetera . From here on, it's pretty much rebuttal.

*** TIP ***

* Consider refusing a POI if you've already taken two or more already. Never accept more than three or four, even if you're short on time.

* Practice POI's with your team as much as possible.

* Consider refusing a POI if the opponent is overly eager and excited to deliver it. This means they've got a blockbuster argument, and refusing it will bruise their ego.

* Each team member should ideally take two POI's if they are offered to you. Always take at least one.

* Consider refusing a POI if you have just been talking about a subject that you don't feel you can argue on.
