Study on the methods to extend storage periods of leafy, flower and fruit vegetables

Abstract
Three kinds of vegetables, leafy (Chinese kale), flower (Chinese chives) and fruit (Yard long bean) were conducted in this experiment to fine the simplify method to extend their storage periods after harvesting. The RCBD with four treatments four replications was used, Treatment 1 put in closed polyethylene plastic bag which no hole, kept in refrigerator, Treatment 2 No hole, kept in room temperature, Treatment 3 had many holes, kept in refrigerator and Treatment 4 had many holes, kept in room temperature. The results shown that every vegetables when stored in the refrigerator had a longer storage period than laid down in the room temperature. (18.33 – 28.33 days). The storage period of Chinese kale, when keep in the plastic bag which either had many holes or not, were quite a little different when stored in the refrigerator or laid down in the room temperature. (0.66 – 1.66 days). Chinese chives and yard long bean, when keep in the plastic bag which had no holes are longer storage periods than had many holes, when stored either in the refrigerator or laid down in the room temperature. (2.33 – 4.00 days).
