Brain is the most important organ in our body. We can improve our brain function by simple techniques.

                       “5 Ways to improve your brain health”   

Why the brain?.   Why not the heart, liver, kidney or other organs in our body. Is the brain more important than his other friend in the body? Yes! He is the master, commanding all the others to work properly, via nervous system, hormone system and immune system. Not only that, he also gives us feeling, emotion, memory, thinking, learning and awareness.

 

              Doctors can treat your diseases but they can’t improve your health. You can only do that yourself. So today let me show you “5 Ways to improve your brain health”

 

Body:

 

  1. Good diet:   

                         Fruits and Vegetables contain antioxidant which helps in reducing brain cell damage.

                         Fish, Nuts and Seeds contain omega-3 fats which is a good and essential fat for your brain function.

 2.  Good exercise: 

                         Exercise increases blood flow to the brain which also increase oxygen and nutrients to brain cells.

                        It can also increase BDNF-the brain substance which encourages growth, communication and survival of brain cells.

                         Do aerobic exercise such as fast walking, jogging. Only 20 minutes per day is  good enough.

 3.  Good sleep:

                         Sleep is very important for animals including humans. We sleep in order to restore all our body mind and brain. 

                        If we don’t maintain adequate sleep, in terms of quantity and quality. It will cause us many health problems and decline our brain function .

                         How do we know whether we are getting good sleeps? Check your level of alertness, judgement and memory in daily life . If these levels worsen compared to the past, you can get your quality of sleep tested at the hospital. This is commonly known as Sleep lab(Polysomnography).

 4.  Learning the new things:

                          The process of learning stimulates brain cell activity by increasing networking of their nerve fibers, referred to as synapsing.

                         We can learn the new things that we love such as reading some new books, travelling to new places, finding new friends, having new classes, learning a new language etc.

                          But the most important thing to bear in mind, is to actually enjoy and not be too serious about it. 

 5.  Meditation:

 

                          There are many scientific evidences supporting the benefits of meditation on human health, particularly brain health. 

                         There is no exact suggestion of how long and how often one should meditate. But the more you pratice, the more benefits you gain.
